I have been working in this field (design for manufacturability) for over 4 years. I have a technical knowledge in mechanical design gained from higher education as well as experience. Currently I'm using Fusion 360 to create mechanical models, FEA, engineering drawing as well as generating g-code for CNC manufacturing. I also have knowledge in proper material selection for the parts based on the function, environment, cost, adaptability as well as service life of the part. My experience is mostly focused on the design of mechanical parts, mechanical analysis (FEA, material selection) and manufacturing (Machining, additive manufacturing). I have in depth knowledge of the FDM process and how to optimise for: print speed, strength, and quality. Prize winner in many online 3D printing and design competitions, winning approximately £2000 worth of prizes in the past three years: Polymaker ‘3D printed hook tournament: Second place. A combination of mechanical engineering, creative design and DfAM to create the strongest possible 3D printed polymer hook (no closed loop) weighing less than 50g. I have designed nearly all types of trauma plates in lattice structure. This is significantly more complex than standard trauma plate design — something most engineers who draw conventional plates cannot achieve. I have hands-on experience with titanium and PEEK materials, lattice structures, and Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM).
