Implemented an MRP inventory system to re-organize shop activities from the development of prototypes into producing multiple large pod systems. Functioned as primary focal point on engineering and technical issues. Supported and interpreted to Manufacturing, Investigated Engineering draw errors and corrected suitably. Wrote the ECOs and drafted the drawing changes for a complete deliverable design package to customer. Design and structural analysis of composite pod heat sink/strong back structure and composite enclosure for airborne camera payload of customer design. Successfully tested to IP67 customer requirement and delivered prototypes. Mechanical Engineer Adherent Technologies Inc July 2001 to Jan 2012 Development Laboratories 11208 Cochiti SE, Albuquerque NM www.adherent-tech.com Modernized outdated mechanical test equipment, as well as trained new personnel to complete destructive testing for evaluating mechanical properties of advanced composite materials. Results showed improved composite material properties achieved by chemist's formulas. Designed, manufactured and operated testing apparatus within ASTM specifications for collecting particulate emissions from catalytic wood stove designs. The results favorably compared new catalyst formulas to competing market products. Organized and managed the facility installation of a pneumatically operated, industrial distillation unit for solvent recovery for composite recycling process plant. Unit was successful, and safely operated. Designed and built structural support and developed operating procedures for a prototype 300 gallon acid digestion composite materials recycling reactor. The reactor is still operating and providing data for composite recycling research to this day. Analyzed the feasibility and implemented the re-purposing a salvaged reactor into a medium sized vacuum testing chamber for experiments with inflatable, foam injected, rigidizable-on-command space structures. Operated, collected data, and designed modifications to a large-scale gasification type tertiary recycling prototype plant. Improved critical heat exchanger designs. Designed, built and operated an experimental drop through plasma treatment chamber for etching surfaces of graphite flakes and carbon nanotubes for use in advanced composite material research. Created a synchronized jack screw system for rapidly opening heat treatment ovens to facilitate faster re-threading and increase production of line involved in composite fiber finish application and powdered tow pre-impregnation. Developed servo controlled gate valves for a feedback control method utilizing laser interferometers for controlling powder flow deposition onto composite fibers. Contributed to the scientific and technical innovation with mechanical test results and visual diagrams and pictures, approved for publication as a NASA Tech Brief, entitled Light Curing Structural Repair Tape for In-Space Repair. Mechanical Engineer Civilian Service, C-5 Engineering September 1999 to June 2001 Warner-Robins Air Force Base, Georgia Q-Clearance obtained (expired) Evaluated and solved engineering problems in a depot level aircraft repair facility, specifically working on maintaining and repairing the oldest prototypes of the heavy lifter fleet of C-5 military aircraft. I have been working in this field (design for manufacturability) for over 4 years. I have a technical knowledge in mechanical design gained from higher education as well as experience. Currently I'm using Fusion 360 to create mechanical models, FEA, engineering drawing as well as generating g-code for CNC manufacturing. I also have knowledge in proper material selection for the parts based on the function, environment, cost, adaptability as well as service life of the part. My experience is mostly focused on the design of mechanical parts, mechanical analysis (FEA, material selection) and manufacturing (Machining, additive manufacturing). Growing up in an advanced mult-axis CNC machine shop and furthering my experience with studies in International Industrial Product Design Marketing and Mechanical Engineering I bring 25 years of theory and deep experience in the hands on / real world aspects of how precision industrial, medical, food processing, commercial, aerospace and consumer product products are conceptualized, prototyped and later produced and sourced. I have substantial experience in multi-axis CNC programming for high-speed, horizontal and vertical milling centers as well as multi-axis Swiss lathes (Citizen) via Mastercam. I am very well versed in a variety of materials and have years experience programming complex, multi-surfaced components to simple components, for short run prototypes, high speed, long run production and high-confidence lights out operations. In addition I have many years experience in CAD modeling and design via Solidworks 2018 including part, assembly and prints of which I also own one seat of latest 2018 version including Solid Works Simulation and the new, very impressive Solid Works Visualize. With Visualize I have the ability to not only design full solid models and assemblies but also create incredible, rendered real world pictures and images. I have designed, prototyped, sourced and brought to market several products from the ground up in various market segments including industrial, medical, food processing and aerospace. (including sheet metal, injection molded parts and of course precision machined parts with very tight tolerances). I currently own a Okuma MB-4000H Multi-Axis Horizontal Milling Center in which I can complete advanced protoypes to high speed, long run production runs. I am very confident that my education, real world experience and upbringing in a CNC environment has given me the ability to not only boldly design and or program components and products with disruptive, world class mechanical characteristics, it has given me the hands on experience to also design within the mindset of key variables like machine-ability and optimal material selection as this directly relates to final product cost. I have deep experience in optimization of solid model product design for machining and injection molding as well. I also hold several patents within the industrial and packaging spaces. I am avid lover of 3D with specialization in Data to Prototype 3D design, Product design, Toy design, Consumer Product Design, and Industrial Design. For further introduction please review a sample walkthrough of my 3D services. I look forward to working with you! STAGES - A project of this nature will have a few steps. If we work together on each step I can design & produce the product(s) you desire with the correct specifications. 1. PrePro- To exact firm measurements, it is first smart for us to isolate the correct production methods and optimization requirements for the final product(s). Material selection, thickness requirements, Bounding Boxes, and Volume are all necessary ingredients in this process. I can, in this preliminary phase, supply useful and applicable knowledge. This will pre-tell the printing cost and allow us to pick the best material and 3d printing house. 2. 3D Modeling- I will be able to design the various model(s) you've suggested. I use a combination of BLENDER, RHINO, MESHLAB, and NETFABB to create, edit, and check models. Each model at this stage will have been checked for printing capability. Questions about aesthetic, structure, and dynamic usually arrive during this stage. At the conclusion of this phase specifications and look are nailed down and readied for 3d printing. 3. 3D Print Formatting - During this last stage model(s) are checked for errors, (thin walls, holes, bad normals, floating pieces, etc.) I send all model(s) through a verified test printability test to ensure 100% printability. Models are thickened, sized and cleaned and given the green light at the end of this stage. 4. Let's Chat! Please view the attached. I have prepared a detailed guide that addresses many topics such as rates, deadlines, and correspondence expectations. This doc will outline how we may best work together on the project. I can happily forward you this term sheet as I see interest to move forward.

My passion is product design; I love taking on challenging design problems and developing robust, cost effective solutions. I have 7 years of experience in mechanical design; in that time, I’ve worked on projects ranging from candle molds and custom guitar picks to exhaust manifolds and lube pumps. I’m proficient in 3D CAD design, and I currently use Fusion 360 for freelance work. Specialties: • Design for fluid flow: Optimized geometry for pulsed (like an exhaust manifold) and steady state (like coolant passages) flow conditions. Do not currently possess CFD analysis capability for freelance work, but have years of experience optimizing flow passages for high performance applications, and can apply that experience to any fluid design project. • Design for 3D printing: There is a common misconception that 3D printers can create any shape that can be imagined. While 3D printing can create shapes that are impossible with traditional manufacturing techniques, it has its own, unique limitations. Without a solid understanding of these limitations and how to account for them, 3D printing projects can become very frustrating very fast. • Design of mechanisms: Designing a system of parts that work together requires a considerable body of knowledge on top of simple part design. Assemblies must be robust against manufacturing variation, assembly variation, and have appropriate surface finishes in order to ensure that the parts will always go together and function as intended. • 2D drawings and GT&T: In most cases, the 2D drawing is still the legal document that defines the part; developing a drawing with a robust datum structure and proper tolerances is a critical part of turning an idea into a producible reality. Other proficiencies: • Design for sand casting: material selection, optimizing parting lines, core design. • Seal design: radial and face seal o-ring interfaces, as well as gasket sealing flanges. • Bolted joint design: proper bolt size and grade selection, grip length, thread engagement.

I am an experienced and creative hand-on engineering consultant who can communicate ideas clearly to my clients. My experience and skill sets covers a broad range of services and industries.
