For the past 3.5 years, I have been in Mechanical Design using Solid Works & Solid Edge. I can produce 2D prints using DraftSight (AutoCad clone). I was a CAD instructor at a 3 county vocational school for 25 years where I taught high school students Cad architectural and Mechanical Drafting. Before that I worked for a parking meter company as a cad and board design drafter. I started my cad drafting career in telecommunications drafting inside outside plant cable designs for Sprint, Siemens, and Time Warner. I started drafting early during my junior high school years earning awards at the trade fairs. Major clients for campus installs where Bowling Green University, Kent State, placed fiber optic installs in eastern southern and western Ohio. I then started working for architects in central and northern Ohio gaining experience in commercial, health care, and residential, construction. I then freelance mechanical, electrical and architectural drafting services to clients in central Ohio and the east coast of Texas. I also with a team designed automated assembly lines for the tire industry Firestone, BF Goodrich, Goodyear. The tire plants where located in the US Mexico and Canada. I also draft additions, house plans, and renovations for local builders I submitted the plans to codes and permits for approval when tasked to do so. During the 80’s I was an armor tank crewman in the United States Army. I grew up in the construction trades my father was a contractor I also did and still do on occasion contract construction in central Ohio.

Seven years ago I started out learning to draft by hand, spending hours ensuring my paper was aligned with my T-square, drawing construction lines, and lettering to my hearts content. While continuing with that practice I moved on to 2d drafting in AutoCAD, and after becoming proficient moved into both architectural drafting and mechanical modeling. After beginning my early college years I was able to earn a certification in SolidWorks and began fulfilling clients needs in 3d modeling. I have accrued experience in 2d CNC work, injection molding, large scale manufacturing, small scale assembly, and am expanding into CAM. Through M. L. Hello, I am currently learning Revit and Civil 3D on an Autodesk 2021 seat and I would enjoy putting the license to work. Having experience with both engineering and drafting design, I would like to provide services utilizing Revit Architectural and Structural packages. Having a degree in Civil Engineering gives me the background for understand the design requirements for the structural integrity of the structure. The majority of design experience is with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and allowable steel design is about 14 years. One year I worked as a drafting contractor bidding for bridge beam shop drawings. (20% of work) However, I also am interested in CAD design. I have a drafting degree in Architectural/Mechanical Drafting and am seeking to update my skills with Autodesk certification. Also I have a CATIA Technician certificate used for design of a test model for an aerodynamic control surface , general assembly and part integration with structures and systems and design of standard parts for 8+ years Gulfstream. I plan to use the parametric skills learning to better understand Revit 3D design.
