The past few years I have been working as a Mechanical Engineer where my area of expertise is electronics packaging. I have a history of success taking products through all phases of development; from concept to prototype, to manufacturing. I have a history of success in product design, prototypes, and preparation for manufacturing. I have a successful record of bringing projects through all phases of development including customization and troubleshooting. With over 8 years of Mechanical Engineering experience, I have worked in design and research and development roles doing various 3D CAD modeling and drawings. I have also worked in the machine shop programming CNC's and in production manufacturing environments. My skill-set and experience is broad. I am a "sword for hire" for those that need swift and sharp technical mechanical design work completed and a guru for sustaining engineering. The majority of my experience is with lithium-ion battery design engineering, launch and ramp in large-scale manufacturing however I also have experience with forensic engineering and lithium-ion cell mechanical R&D. My most notable career-highlight is creating a global sustaining-engineering model and building a team-structure to execute thereto. I've done this twice, once for DeWalt's highest-volume lithium-ion battery product (>10 production lines in 3 factories globally) and again for Tesla's Model 3/Y legacy battery production (2 Giga-factories). I developed an assortment of methods, best-practices, strategies and techniques to define and optimize post-launch product/production sustaining.

As a kid I was always tinkering, taking toys apart, building my own toys and generally just asking the question, “WHY!”. I always felt that there had to be a good reason why things were done the way they are. I found myself wanting to explore that more and push myself to see if I could create things in a better way. I studied Industrial Design and received a BS from the University of California, Long Beach. After college I decided to take advantage of every experience I was going to have in my career and use it to my advantage. Think of it as my graduate degree where I could get paid, earn real world experience and learn different ways to solve problems (it just took a little longer). During this time, I developed the core values that I bring to every project. Think differently. Be better. Take care of people and the environment. Challenge everything and be part of the solution. For the last decade and a half, I’ve worked for small and large companies alike. I’ve designed furniture for a well-known furniture designer, John Caldwell. I worked consumer electronics for Pentagram and Lenartstudios. Designing for large companies like Motion Computing, Fujistu, Jibe Audio, LG, Memorex, Dell and E-ink. I found my calling when working for Specialized designing cycling shoes. I rounded out my design experience learning about packaging design. My time at Uneka taught me about how the entire product design experience comes together and gets delivered to the consumer. All of these experiences have molded me into the designer I am today. Passionate, thoughtful, inquisitive and purposeful in my approach. However, it is this passion to do better that drives me.
