About

I am a detail-oriented Aerospace Engineer with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) design skills. Passionate about making life easier and simple for all through innovative design and technology. I have a positive obsession with 'efficiency' and 'economy' which reflects in my innovative designs.

Using SolidWorks, I redesigned and fabricated a modular agricultural crop sprayer UAV under a KNUST led Royal Academy of Engineers - HEPSSA Project decreasing the overall weight of the UAV by a 12% margin while making it easier for disassembly and assembly during maintenance. I have utilised SolidWorks to design a fixed wing UAV for 3D-Printing Manufacturing. Through voluntary work, I have helped over 1000 students in learning how to code using Processing (a Java based programming language) on their smartphones. I am a motivated individual with engineering skills, management skills and a solid technical background.

Experience

  • CTO/Design Engineer Wingxtra Aerospace · Part-time Jan 2020 – Feb 2023 3 yrs 1 mos Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana I joined Wingxtrer Aerospace as a Co-founder and CTO. I supported the growth of the startup financially and technically through my expertise in UAV design & Computer Aided Design (CAD) Engineering.

Serving in the capacity of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Startup, I led the team to develop Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems and Instruments such as a Gyroscopic Equipment for Multirotor compass calibration from concept to design and manufacturing. Using SolidWorks software, I designed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle parts and assemblies. Aided the team greatly during surveys, meetup with clients, manufacturing and flight testing.
  • UAV Design Engineer KNUST & RAE Project · Part-time Jan 2022 – Sep 2022 8 mos Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana • Tested and assessed an existing agricultural sprayer UAV and wrote a technical report detailing its pitfalls and suggested feasible modifications.

    • Prepared status technical reports about the progress of the project and communicated the insights of these reports to the HEPSSA Leaders through PowerPoint presentations.

    • Compared to the previous UAV, I utilised Design for Manufacturing (DFM) with SolidWorks to design a lighter Hexa-copter frame decreasing weight of the UAV by 26 percent.

    • Performed CAD Assembly of all UAV parts in SolidWorks to avoid assembly conflicts.

    • Performed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of UAV CAD models in SolidWorks and modified CAD models accordingly for strength.

    • Put together a Bill of Materials (BOM) for the agricultural sprayer UAV project.

    • Performed 3D-Printing and laser cutting during fabrication of the UAV while reducing material wastage by more than 70 percent.
