Experience

  • mechanical team lead Alex eagles (Alexandria university faculty of engineering) ยท Full-time Jun 2025 – Present 6 mos Egypt As Mechanical Team Lead, I directed the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems for both fixed-wing aircraft and multicopter UAVs to compete in the SUAS 2025 and UAVC 2025 competitions. My role involved:

Leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers in creating UAV structures, payload delivery mechanisms, and aerodynamic designs.

Supervising the manufacturing process, including material selection (sheet metal, carbon fiber, steel) and fabrication techniques such as CNC laser cutting, wire cutting, welding, and machining.

Coordinating with electrical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of control, power, and sensor systems.

Preparing and delivering technical documentation and reports, which earned our team multiple Best Technical Report Awards.

Training junior members in CAD design (Fusion 360, SolidWorks), structural analysis, and mechanical system assembly.

Ensuring that designs balanced innovation, durability, and manufacturability while meeting competition requirements.

This role strengthened my skills in team leadership, system integration, technical reporting, and project management, while giving me hands-on experience with UAV development from concept to competition flight.

Education

  • Faculty of Engineering Alexandria University Bachelor's Degree, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, 2.6/4 2020 – 2025 Activities and Societies: Alex Eagles UAV Team โ€“ Mechanical Team Lead & Aircraft Design Engineer; designed UAVs and led projects for international competitions (SUAS 2025, UAVC 2024โ€“25). IEEE Alexandria Student Branch (SB) โ€“ Robotics Instructor in the Protons Program, teaching robotics, CAD, Arduino, and hardware assembly to high school students. STEM Mentorship & Tutoring โ€“ Provided private tutoring for IGCSE and university students in mathematics, physics, and mechanics. Engineering Competitions โ€“ Active participation in UAV competitions, earning multiple Best Technical Report Awards and Top 5 placements. My studies provided me with a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, and computer systems, with specialized coursework in:

    Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

    Computer Vision & Industrial Robotics

    Power Electronics & Motor Drives

    Control Systems & Motion Planning

    Microcontrollers & Embedded Systems

Vehicle Dynamics & Mechatronic System Design

Beyond coursework, I applied my learning through hands-on projects and international competitions, including UAV design, robotic arm development with ROS and MATLAB, and semi-autonomous robotics challenges.

    Key Highlights:

Mechanical Team Lead, Alex Eagles UAV Team (SUAS 2025, UAVC 2024โ€“25).

Awards: Best Technical Report (SUAS & UAVC 2025), 5th Place Overall (UAVC 2024 & 2025).

Active member of IEEE Alexandria SB, teaching robotics, CAD, and Arduino to high school students.

This combination of academic depth, technical projects, and leadership roles shaped me into an engineer capable of bridging theory and practice while excelling in collaborative, competitive environments.
