About

My name is Alexandru Titus Cristea. I’m a certified mechanical and product development engineer with over 4 years of industry experience in designing functional, manufacturable mechanical components and assemblies. My core expertise lies in parametric 3D modeling, technical drawing creation, and product validation using SolidWorks Professional (fully licensed), which I also use in my freelance projects.

Currently, I am employed as a Product Development Engineer Leader in the steering wheel manufacturing sector. In this role, I’m responsible for leading the mechanical design of sub-assemblies and complete systems, ensuring full alignment with DFM/DFA principles and compliance with industry-specific quality standards. I collaborate directly with OEM customers and Tier-1 suppliers, managing both internal and external engineering deliverables.

Key Technical Capabilities:
• CAD Design: Advanced 3D part and assembly modeling, surfacing, and motion simulation using SolidWorks.
• Technical Documentation: Production-ready 2D drawings, complete with tolerances, GD&T, and BOMs.
• Reverse Engineering: Experience replicating physical components through manual measurements and CAD reconstruction.
• Manufacturing-Oriented Design: Designs optimized for CNC machining, plastic injection molding, and 3D printing, with full understanding of material and process constraints.
• End-to-End Workflow: Involvement from concept development and prototyping through to validation and final assembly.

While I maintain a full-time engineering role, I am available to commit up to 30 hours per week to freelance work.
