This project explored an innovative approach to enhancing concrete durability by integrating self-healing bacteria into the concrete matrix. The goal was to simulate how bacterial activity could automatically fill cracks, thereby reducing maintenance needs and increasing the lifespan of structures.
Modeled concrete embedded with bacteria capable of producing calcium carbonate when exposed to water and air.
Used ANSYS to simulate crack propagation, healing mechanisms, and the interaction between bacterial agents and structural stresses.
Defined realistic environmental conditions, bacterial activation thresholds, and mechanical properties of the concrete for accurate analysis.
Results showed an 80% reduction in crack width under optimal conditions, significantly improving the structure’s durability.
Demonstrated the potential of bio-based materials in sustainable civil engineering applications.
This project combined biological innovation with computational modeling, offering a sustainable solution to infrastructure maintenance challenges.

The Spider Robot project aimed to replicate arachnid-inspired locomotion through a mechanically efficient and lightweight robotic system. The focus was on designing a stable, agile structure capable of navigating uneven terrain using dynamic joint mechanisms.
Designed a fully articulated eight-legged robot using SolidWorks, employing parametric modeling, mate constraints, and realistic motion simulation.
Integrated mechanical joints that mimicked spider-like leg movements, ensuring flexibility, stability, and load balance during walking.
Applied Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to all technical drawings for precise manufacturing and assembly.
Focused on optimal weight distribution and structural resilience, achieving efficient mobility in simulated environments.
Resulted in a prototype-ready design capable of terrain adaptability, suitable for further development in surveillance or inspection applications.
This project demonstrated skills in bio-inspired design, mechanical linkage modeling, and precision CAD development.
