About
A passionate, creative and motivated Design Engineer from the University of Bristol with industrial experience at Rolls-Royce and Manufacturing Technology Centre.
I am keen to help change the way we produce and use energy; I have spent time surveying power transmission networks in rural Tanzania, designed PV systems and help run the UK’s first small-scale wood-gas co-generation plant on my family farm in Herefordshire. My recent efforts have been with Metronome Energy, a start-up providing grid flexibility through aggregated demand-side response.
I am primarily offering freelance services as a CAD draughtsman, with experience in Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360 and Solidworks. My latest client was a Research Lab working with a high volume automotive manufacturer, the project was an automated carbon fibre cutting system and I delivered the prototype CAD designs and renders of the final machine. As well as mechanical design experience, I have programming skills in MATLAB, Arduino, C++ which may be of interest to some clients.
An aspiration of mine is to become a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Engineering and Technology of which I am currently a member. My free time tends to be taken up with a variety of social and creative design projects; from building a beer keg barbeque to more ambitious ventures, such as a converting a 40ft shipping container into a plug-and-play heated swimming pool.
