About
I have extensive review experience with press tooling design, review, and build, incorporating automation as required. I also regularly perform forming simulation review of draw and forming operations, analyzing both formability, and spring back tendencies, develop process layouts for complex 3d parts in high strength metals, and prove out the process before moving forward with hard tooling.
I am comfortable within the core Engineering group supporting Design/Simulation/Development/Build - and also within Costing/Sourcing/Directing offshore LCC tooling suppliers in building tooling for the North American market.
I speak daily Chinese and have spent significant time in China: sourcing and completing tooling.
I work across multiple time zones (China, Germany, North America, Mexico), and report and direct remote teams. I am fully responsible for the tooling projects and I am hands-on during engineering, design, build, and procurement.
I excel at taking a step/x_t/iges/nx die design, and quickly making snapshot reports in powerpoint and pdf. Within several hours, a complete report with suggestions and improvements is generated and supplied back to the customer, or their supplier. (No need for slow webex/team meetings with multiple reviews and slow change cycles).
