I place mounts so they line up and make sense. What I've done: Custom PC enclosures – made them slimmer, cleaned up vents, added recessed buttons Small electronics enclosures – custom PCB mounts, flush front panels Bent aluminum parts – designed for real manufacturing, not just pretty pictures My strengths: Taking messy files and cleaning them up Making enclosures as thin as possible Adding clean vents, buttons, and ports Working fast and replying the same day I keep it simple. I loved Legos and erector sets since I was a young child which helped instill a passion for design. At the age of 17, I went to Fukuoka Japan as a foreign exchange student. After graduating high school, I joined the United States Air Force specializing in Explosive Ordnance Disposal which falls under the domain Civil Engineering and I obtained an associates degree based on my position. After completing six years of service to the Air Force, I followed my passion for helping people into the field of nursing where I obtained a bachelors degree from the University of Nevada Reno (UNR). While at UNR, I spent many hours in the engineering building honing my CAD skills and furthered my skills by acquiring a student license to practice with at home until I decided I was good enough to buy a commercial product license. During my time in nursing, I focused my time in the ICU, Neuro-Surgery, and Telemetry floors with minor assignments in the ED and Surgical suites. I graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005 and immediately entered the aerospace industry working for a major airframe manufacturer. There I learned and used CATIA v4 and was fully trained in CATIA v5. I've spent the last 10 years working in various design roles as an individual contributor and design lead of cross functional teams on simple and complex projects with values exceeding $15 million. I have advanced skills in CATIA v5 in areas of solid modeling, complex surfacing, assembly design, and drafting as well as bill of material and bill of specification creation, modification, and maintenance. I'm a detailed-oriented 3D modeler. My professional experience includes making models and drawings for IOT hub assemblies, precast concrete structures, as well as commercial furniture. However, my interest lies with toys, games, and general household items. I'm most comfortable using SolidWorks, but have experience in the 2D and 3D aspects of AutoCAD. I have experience with additive manufacturing and understand how to design a model with 3D printing in mind.
