I've been interested in structural strength since I was a child, later choosing to become a mechanical engineer, learning how to achieve high-quality products with optimized shape and light weight. I have a lot of experience from many different areas of engineering, like equipment for transformers (tap-changers and bushings), power towers and masts, machines, mechanisms, cranes and much more. As could be seen from the numbers of softwares I have used, I am a very quick learner which also means that I most often can understand a project or problem and start my work on it very quick. But I always try to have an open mind, knowing that good quality often comes from assessing several alternativs before choosing, An important goal is to give my customers early indications when finding room for improvement of a product/project. Many have been astonished by the speed of my work, but quality is more important for me than speed. Of course, high speed often means lower costs in the end.

Our company brings together skilled engineers with many years of experience in many areas of CAD / CAE design, including, but not only ; optimization and simulation of technological processes, as well as FEM simulations and analysis acquired in the automotive and engineering industries over the last 18 years. We have over 18 years of experience in running projects for TIER 1 and TIER 2 customers, from prototypes to SOPs in the design of exhaust gas turbochargers, e-compressors, e-machines and other elements for the automotive industry. Our technicians are specialists in the fields of aluminum casting, sheet metal stamping and injection molding of plastic elements, for which we simulate the manufacturing process. At the same time, we carry out analysis and simulations in advanced programs, allowing us to simultaneously optimize the design process. In order to offer our customers the best possible service quality, we have implemented the corresponding processes and obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification. Dr. Shamsoon Fareed, is a Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, Pakistan. He has an over 15 years of teaching and research experience. He did his PhD in Civil Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom. During his PhD he carried out both experimental (via drop weight testing) and numerical (using non-linear finite element package ABAQUS) investigations on the behaviour of the subsea pipes under high mass low velocity impact loading. Dr. Shamsoon Fareed has published over fifty (50) research articles in international refereed journals and conferences. He has secured funding worth USD 447,508 in the form of research projects both nationally in Pakistan and internationally. Some of his research projects include the development of Ultra High Strength Concrete (UHSC), Impact behaviour of RC UHSC structural elements, development of structural health monitoring system for infra-structure, use of recycled aggregates concrete in structural elements, retrofitting and strengthening of structural elements using fiber reinforced polymers and development of composites for structural strengthening using locally available textile materials. Furthermore, his research interest also includes the behaviour of structures under accidental loading (impact, blast), materials under high rate loadings, Shear behaviour of reinforced concrete beams, strengthening of structural elements using CFRP, use of recycled aggregates in the structural elements.

At VERMATIQ GmbH, I lead technical assessments of wind turbine blades and composite structures where the structural risk, required evidence, or next technical step is not yet clear. Typical work includes independent design and FEA reviews, manufacturing deviations, repair assessments, structural failures, root cause analysis, test validation, and certification assessments. I start by defining the decision that has to be made, then separate what is demonstrated from what remains open. From there, I define the calculation, test, or additional evidence needed to support the decision. My technical work covers structural analysis, fatigue, buckling, and failure assessment, with ANSYS as my main FEA environment. I have 17+ years of international experience in wind turbine blade and composite structural engineering. My certification work has covered more than 200 wind turbine components and over 60 rotor blades.
