I am a 4th year undergraduate at the University of Florida studying mechanical engineering. I have been working in a research lab for the past two years where we design and manufacture survey drones. Looking for experience and some extra cash to pay rent while I finish my degree.

Primary roles include CAD design and modeling of drone airframe and related components, engineering analysis of critical components, manufacturing of airframe.

Other experience

Bathy-Drone Research Assistant Responsible for design and manufacturing of heavy-lift quadcopter for use in an automated drone-based bathymetry system (Bathy-Drone).

Airframe components are primarily composed of pre-preg carbon fiber parts made in-house with custom molds. Remaining custom parts are typically 3D printed, using either SLA or FDM methods.

I was specifically very involved with the design and manufacturing of the aluminum molds for the "arms" of the drone. These molds have been used to manufacture dozens of carbon-fiber parts in an autoclave.
