I am a detail-oriented designer and engineer who thrives on unique, challenging and creative projects. I have been trained in mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering. I excel in engineering design and computer aided drafting. I have a passion for continuous improvement and thinking outside the box. I have been a designer since 2004. that year I started taking engineering classes while I was still in highschool. Early in my education I was fortunate to be entered into an engineering competition (SkillsUSA) and won first place at the state level and second at the national level. When I entered college my main focus was mechanical engineering I have continued my education in electrical and structural engineering. This gives me the advantage when designing because I can foresee design issues due to electrical, manufacturing, or structural requirements.

I’m a mechanical designer and project engineer with over 10 years of experience delivering innovative, manufacturing solutions across 100+ projects totaling $10M+ in scope. My career has produced designs for industries including manufacturing, water treatment, agriculture, energy, logistics, food processing, and retail, where I’ve combined strong 3D design skills with hands-on project execution and leadership. I specialize in product development, turnkey manufacturing management, and mechanical system design, with a deep understanding of how to move ideas from concept to production. My background includes SolidWorks, Inventor, FEA (SimSolid), and a range of ERP/MRP and WMS tools that keep complex projects efficient and traceable. Over the years, I’ve worked across industries including industrial automation, material handling, custom machinery, energy systems, logistics, and manufacturing services. My work has ranged from detailed mechanical drafting and 3D modeling to managing engineering teams, vendors, and quality documentation. I’ve designed and optimized equipment, implemented process automation through Excel VBA and other tools, and mentored designers on best practices in CAD modeling and drawing standards. In addition to design work, I’ve contributed heavily to project estimation, procurement, and production coordination, ensuring that cost, schedule, and technical requirements stay aligned. I’ve also implemented improvements in inventory management, vendor relations, and cost control—reducing waste and improving bottom-line efficiency for my employers and clients. Whether leading a project from initial concept through prototype testing or providing detailed drawing packages for production, I focus on solving problems and delivering dependable mechanical and process solutions. I take pride in creating designs that are practical, efficient, and easy to manufacture. I’m currently seeking remote or contract-based mechanical design opportunities, where I can apply my background in 3D modeling, FEA, and manufacturing processes to help companies execute their projects effectively. I’m especially drawn to roles that value initiative, attention to detail, and a balance between technical accuracy and creative problem-solving.

As a Mechanical Designer, I engineer and design processing equipment. The equipment types vary from vibrating conveyors, feeders, screeners, fluid bed dryers and coolers, Tarnish dryers, flash dryers, media slurry dryers, spiral elevators, shakeouts, and more. These types of equipment solutions are used in the following industries: aggregates, pharmaceuticals, coal, food, tobacco, metals, paper, wood, glass and many others. I relocated to Louisville, KY in 1997 where I spent close to 10 years designing material handling and pallet wrapping equipment. I also have over 10 years in the the Autodesk reseller channel, were I implemented complete design solutions around a customer's needs. During these periods, I developed my design skills by using products like AutoCAD, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault and Dassault Solidworks.

My passion is AutoCAD. Taking an idea or a pencil scribble and turning it into something everyone can see, not just the creator, is empowering. For the past 8 years I have worked in the material handling and warehouse design industry. I had the privilege to work on multimillion dollar projects aiding in the design of automated systems, all the way down to a single rack bay for a veterinarian startup. I throughly enjoyed my time in the industry, but felt it was time to leave corporate life and focus more on life locally. No matter the size of the company or project making sure the customers needs are met and the desired visual design is achieved is paramount.

From vision to creation I excel at combining creativity with engineering. My path began studying Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. Then diverged into entrepreneurship in the lumber industry where I realized a need for equipment that did not exist. I began designing and fabricating innovative new equipment for lumber processing and material handling. I invented and patented an automated processing machine for stacking lumber. It is the only modular single fork random width lumber stacking machine designed for small to medium sized production lines. I have since developed other more material specific stackers and transfer conveyors. My company now produces these and designs and fabricates specialty material handing solutions. I enjoy solving design problems. If I can help with yours please let me know. I will offer up to a few hours of free consultation to understand your need. Within 1-3 days I’m a typically on a path to a solution we feel good about or will let you know this problem isnt for me to solve.
