I design real products that get manufactured - not just 3D models.
Manufacturing-ready CAD, prototyping, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM)-driven product development for industrial and consumer products.
I’m a Product & Industrial Designer with a strong engineering background, specializing in manufacturable product design, mechanical systems, and production-ready CAD.
My core focus is not just creating geometry, but developing real products that can be prototyped, tested, manufactured, assembled, and scaled.
I have over 10 years of hands-on experience in automotive and industrial product development, particularly within the automotive aftermarket, where design decisions directly impact tooling cost, durability, logistics, and user safety.
📐 What I Do Best
I support products from early concept through production validation, with a strong emphasis on:
🔖 Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
🔖 Design for Assembly (DFA)
🔖 Prototyping strategies (FDM, SLA, MJF, CNC)
🔖 Injection molding, sheet metal, and machined parts
🔖 Tolerance management, interfaces, and real-world constraints
📐 End-to-End Product Development Experience
I’ve initiated and completed 100+ projects, including:
- New product development
- Product and process optimization
- Cost reduction through redesign
- Capacity and efficiency improvements
- Innovative R&D projects
- Patent-oriented design and prior-art interpretation
I’m comfortable evaluating designs from a patentability and IP-risk perspective and aligning concepts accordingly.
📐 Services
- Product development from concept or existing reference
- Mechanical and industrial 3D CAD (Siemens NX)
- Manufacturing drawings (GD&T, BOM, weld symbols)
- Design for CNC, sheet metal, injection molding–ready design
- Reverse engineering & 3D scan to CAD
- Prototyping strategies and iteration planning
- Mold-aware part design (plastic & tooling logic)
- Technical support during supplier/manufacturer discussions
⏲ Engagement Model
I work hourly for:
- Iterative product development
- Prototyping-heavy projects
- Ongoing engineering support
I prefer fixed-price for:
- Clearly defined parts or assemblies
- Manufacturing drawings & production packages
- Design reviews and feasibility studies
In all cases, scope is defined upfront to avoid surprises on both sides.
📌 Primary CAD Tool: Siemens NX, AutoCAD and Geomagic Design X
I work primarily in Siemens NX, which is widely used in high-end automotive and industrial manufacturing.
I can deliver clean, fully editable STEP / STL / Parasolid files, and I regularly convert and work with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, SketchUp, and scan-based data.
If you use SolidWorks or another CAD system, this is not a limitation — deliverables are always production-ready and compatible.
✒️ Supporting:
- Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign
- Excel (costing, BOMs, comparisons)
📌 If you’re looking for someone who can own the technical side of your product, speak the language of manufacturers, and reduce risk before production—this is where I add the most value.
📐 Automotive Aftermarket Products Development Experience
I’ve led and executed the design and development of many production-ready products, including:
✒️ Roof Rack Carrier Bars: Designed 12+ variants, 200+ mounting brackets & kits optimized for different roof types, load cases, and regulations.
✒️ Modular & Extendable Roof Basket: A configurable, scalable system designed for modular manufacturing and logistics efficiency.
✒️ Vehicle Roof-Mounted Bicycle Carrier: A dual-orientation design supporting different wheel diameters with integrated safety locking.
✒️ Roof Rails for Commercial Vehicles: A design that allows for the mounting of various equipment on the roof of commercial vehicles while also giving the vehicle a stylish and aesthetic appearance.
✒️ Vehicle Roof-Mounted Canoe Carrier: A compact, user-friendly system optimized for ease of use and space efficiency.
✒️ Running Boards & Side Steps: Adaptable designs with interchangeable visible components for multiple vehicle platforms.
✒️ Vehicle Roof Platform: A modular and scalable design featuring T-slot mounting channels for different components, allowing for the adaptation of tents or other equipment.
✒️ Hitch Bike Rack: Tiltable, foldable, transport-optimized, configurable for mounting 2 or 3 bikes, competitive in the global market and focused on price-performance.
These products were developed with tooling, assembly, durability, and cost in mind—not just form.
