Paul John B. Angel is a licensed Mechanical Engineer in the Philippines since year 2014. He is exposed more on hand drafting and using CAD softwares. He started using CAD softwares since year 2010 and had taken a licensed user. He also taken up a licensed Solidworks user on year 2017. He started to work on March 2015 as a mechanical drafter/designer in the field of HVAC wherein he attends meeting for approved designs, design revisions and asbuilts. On August 2016, he works on a manufacturing company where he models 2D and 3D of styrofoam mold, plastic cups, bottles and machines where the clients are multi-national. He is also an assistant foreman and a technical engineer there. On July 2017, he works as a mechanical draftsman on feed milling equipments, silos and he is also the project supervisor/manager of the 60TPH Feedmill plant located in Bataan, Philippines. I have designed various machinery including road tankers, generating sets, pumps, compressors, hydraulic mechanical handling equipment, lifting gear and even a battery powered mobile hoist for Torness Nuclear power station. I have received industrial training in the UK from National Grid, the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and the National Fluid Power Centre (NFPC). I am an expert with Inventor, and in recent years have also become competent with Fusion 360 and Solidworks. CAD software is so good nowadays, that it is quite easy to model something. Where I have proven to be outstanding is with my application of mechanical design analysis and enough experience to know how to apply theoretical methods to reality and what works. Where necessary I can present comprehensive design substantiation e.g. to meet design standards such as BS / ISO or machinery directive and obtain CE / UKCA marking. I am expert with MathCAD and Excel for producing and presenting calculations that have held up to scrutiny. Where appropriate I will produce FEA with Inventor and ANSYS for stress analysis of more complex geometry and loading situations. During my Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering (later incorporated to MSc), I studied the numerical methods involved in FEA, and this combined with experience in aftermarket looking at part failure with Howden Process Compressors, now informs how I use these tools and allows me to use FEA effectively and realistically. I have solid understanding of key manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, and fitting, having always worked closely with the shop floor, soaking up knowledge and enjoying the camaraderie. I am interested in innovative technology and in recent years I have produced successful designs for mechanical components made by 3d printing of plastic. I have extensive knowledge of industrial components and suppliers and have often saved the time and expense of design and manufacture by knowing of an appropriate off-the-shelf part.
