Contest Ended, Winner(s) have been selected.
Description:
I bought a new apartment in Paris, 2 bedroom with 60sqm.We'd like to get proposals on how to organize the space, and for interior design.
We don't have a preference for the software. One of our question is whether we should move the Kitchen inside the living room, or perhaps switch it with the bathroom. That way we could also use the corridor space to have a bigger master bedroom.
In terms of style, we're open to various styles. Maybe industrial, or vintage, or else.
Ceiling height is 2.45meter
Wants:
We're open to creativity. Our goal is to better visualize ourselves in the space and be able to get a clearer direction into what we can ask workers for the renovation. We like being able to get the kitchen closer to the living room but we also want to get enough space for a table / sofa for hanging out and hosting dinners.
Don't Wants:
Not really fond of scandinavian that's in too many apartments now.

#18 Paris Apartment
by Ing.EdgarM.
In this opportunity I wanted to create a modern and functional design using usual decorative elements to demonstrate everyday life inside the home, use strong and soft colors to highlight walls or decorative elements, in the architectural part I offer them new spaces by inviting the kitchen in a main bathroom, Dressing room and functional laundry, something that the apartment did not have, removed the kitchen to the living room and part of the antique bathroom, turning it into an open space kitchen to the living and dining room, and created a new guest bathroom and for the other room. With all this I hope to have achieved their expectations and that they can enjoy this design.
Thank you for the opportunity.

The idea is to bring the kitchen to the living room, with a small 6-seater glass dining table.
The floor appears to be in good condition. A good sandpaper and a varnish will make it look great.
The kitchen allocated into the living room using the open concept, allows a significant increase in the size of the master bedroom.

#3 Paris 60m2 Apartment - Proposal
by francisco_dp
First of all, I can't know the technical information about the structure of your building. We are not really evaluating the fact that it offers no more information. However, my whole purpose is to focus on showing my own best solution to the information that exists.
Let me explain that relocating a kitchen or toilet is not a simple task. The main drawback are the sewer lines. The main sections cross the building vertically and in specific points. Each apartment connects to them with horizontal paths, these horizontal lines have a minimum pendant. These are implying that changing the location of a bathroom or a kitchen is a complex task and sometimes impracticable.
My proposal is simple. Remove the hallway and demolish the wall that separates the kitchen from the secondary bedroom. Transform that space into a living room with a kitchen using an open concept and convert the current one into the main room. Thus leaving the main room with 18m2 and the open concept space without the wall with 20m2.
Without more information about visuals, structural issues, and with this fee this would be my suggestion with the limited information available.
Sincerely,
Arq. Fran DP

Hi, 2nd floor
On what floor is the apartment?
(because, if the apartment is not on the ground floor, then it is quite difficult to move the toilet).

Hi,
To answer the last comment, and it was an important information I should have added from the start, the load bearing walls are the one between Sejour and Salle de bain (2m) and the one between WC and Chambre 1 (also 2m)
But the one between the corridor and bedroom it is ok to remove.
For previous questions about furniture style, we like vintage or industrial, japanese-like minimal design with wood, white, but with a bit of color (for example for the sofa).

Good day, The main question is whether the wall separating the corridor and the bedroom is non-load bearing. I'm asking that you confirm if it is okay to remove it. Maybe you have confirmed it already? The next question is an extension of the first, Which of the internal walls are load-bearing? Maybe you dont need to be limited to the any of the walls. which could open up your options allot more
Hello --
I would echo Eila's comment, but perhaps ask to clarify. What furniture style do you like?

Jeremy
