I need a 3d design.

Think of a signboard like this:

And now we need it smaller and more fashionable. So that someone can hold it like this:

The pole should be one that can be expanded with the push of a button. The pole will go up to a max of 12 feet. And when no expanded it will be 6 feet.

The pole should have 3 buttons on it. 1 button will increase the height of the pole, the 2nd button will decrease the height of the pole. And the 3rd button should lower a stand so that the user can set the sign board down and not have to hold it.

Look at this youtube video:

You see how the button makes the umbrella open and then close. I want the same the thing. if the person click the button then pole will extend and if they click it again it will go back down

Oh also can you make it look kinda futuristic. Do you know what a lightsaber is?
Looks like this:$10.01-20-_-25765&utm_medium=CSE&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=COSTUME%20ACCESSORIES%20%3e%20BOYS%2fUNISEX%20%3e%20TOY%20WEAPONS%2fGUNS%2fNUNCHUKS%2fSWORD%2fSHIELD&utm_content=25765&CAWELAID=120245380000161201&catargetid=120245380000076529&cadevice=c?clickid=78d14767-1c9f-41c2-890d-cd9a1a6f3f99&gclid=CNWVz4exzNACFYWVfgodMHoD0g

So like on the outside of the pole. I want the plastic with the light inside. So it glows. So that it will be strong on the inside, and then on the outside there will be a glowing light to make it look cool

On top of the signboard will be a cheap lcd screen. This screen will display text or an image on it.

The pole shouldn't be too heavy but it should be strong enough to securely hold the lcd screen on top. The wires should run inside the pole and nothing should be shown outside.

I am attaching an image of something really basic but similar to what I am looking for.
Look swell as simplicity
  1. Anything you want

#9 LCD Screen Stand by Dan_f
Attached is a lightweight design which would be easy and extremely cheap to make. If the screen does not need to be raised/lowered frequently, then an electrically controlled mechanism adds a lot of unneccessary complexity.
The lower section consists of an aluminium inner pole, and an outer plastic sleeve. LED light strips are placed inside of the plastic sleeve to create a lightsaber effect. Simple and effective.
It would be harder/more complex to manufacture a sturdy stand if this plastic sleeve was used on the upper pole, hence a different method has been used. The aluminium pole is painted, and has several holes for LED's which would be flush to the surface, all wiring inside of the pole.
It's a simple yet very effective design.
Best wishes,

#2 Extendible Sign by Steersman
Thanks for the response to my comments. I have now got a handle on what the idea is about. Please see the attached picture (The pink cylinder represents the plastic tube)
I think you are right about the unit being powered. The height makes any manual system either laborious to erect or complicated to assemble. My design includes an electric motor for powered lifting and lowering. The legs fold up manually like an umbrella mechanism.
The difficult part of the design is to have the power cable hidden inside the tube. The reason for this is that when the unit is only 6 foot high, there is six foot of spare cable to be coiled up - automatically. Normally a spring powered drum would be the answer, but I don't think there will be enough space for this. However, I have come up with a solution which involves looping the cable inside the inner tube, with elastics (light shock cord) to take up the slack).
If you want other images of the model, eg showing it in the six foot configuration of fully collapsed, or with a different background etc, and/or If you want the model I have created, the charge is the $120 you have offered. (I can export it in to other model formats if required).
Also, I can create the complete set of working drawings ready for manufacture. Price $1,000
And, I can also produce a prototype. Price $5,000
I am based in the UK so these prices do not include taxes or delivery costs.
I hope this helps
Best regards

#3 Modern Electric Expandable Pole by Angga Darma Prabowo
Here is modern electric expandable pole. the mechanism use screw driver as rotor and threaded cylinder as expandable pole. the stand use tripod spring mechanism you need to push the hook and the tripod will expand. furthermore I can help you optimizing my design, and manufacturing process if I win.

#12 led pole stand by sunny sihag
This stand has got more stability because in this instead of small pipes larger plates are used as they have larger area with the ground so it provides greater stability of the board.
and in this the LED plate is interchangable so the user can use the LED's of their own size but upto a limit.
the location and placement of the buttons is such that the user can use it very easily.
further for the detailed views of the base stability u can ask anytime i have my concept all ready.
and ask if u need its model.
do tell any problems in it

sir,do you want a picture of the model or a 3d model files??

@Cstringer - Yes this is something that I want to build.

@Streersman - Um. I haven't thought of it like that. Would a mechanical mechanism be easier and cheaper? And for the lightsaber guide, I was actually thinking like a steel pole inside or something sturdy but not too heavy that can support the sign, and the plastic would be around the steel pole just for looks. I don't want the plastic to support anything, its just purely for looks. And most of the places that it will be used are indoors so there will not be much wind. We just need a base that can stabilize the sign if it's on the ground.

@saurabh5496 - The pole will expand up to 12 feet. And the sign on top will be 2ft X 1ft or 2ft X 2ft.

Is this something you want to be able to actually build? Or do you just want a 3d model?

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 10:16:52 +0000
An interesting challenge, but I don't understand its actual purpose, or why anyone would want such a thing.
Electric powered poles seems over sophisticated. Why not a simple mechanical mechanism. Also, the light sabre you guide us to is made of plastic for the light to emit. For a twelve foot high sign, I think plastic might be too flimsy unless it is very large diameter..

Also, about the base. if the sign is to be left unattended, then the base needs to be substantial in order to prevent it being blown down in the wind. I would expect it to be made of concrete.

Can you elaborate please?

Hello there,

Can you prepay the prize?, i am sure you are going to get some good designs :)

Similar Contests on Cad Crowd

Wheel Rocker
I want a design for a device that will rotate a wheel about 10 inches in outer diameter about 1 complete rotation back and forth. I prefer for the device to sit on the floor and rotate the wheel back and forth instead of attaching to the carriage frame since I don’t have any carriage specs and they may vary depending on which model is being used The device could attach to the wheel itself, rim or tire. It should be adjustable though to fit on a few different size wheels. It should be designed to be able to adjust to a wheel from 7 - 10 inches.
cordage cam and hook
This is to be a prototype device so it may have a few iterations. There will be additional funds for a planned phase II of this prototype. The idea is a way to secure cordage or twine. The rough specs are 40mm long, 20mm wide and 5mm thick at the base. The cam should be modeled similarly to the look of something you would see on a sailboat. The arch must be just slightly lower than the top of the cam. The cam should be usable for 2mm-6mm cordage.
3DS MAX - Media Room Lighting render
Use 3DS Max or similar to model a Modern yet comfortable Media Room. See example pics. Lighting is the key as our client is a lighting firm. First stage of the project is producing the model and supplying it along with just 1 render. The model is to showcase mood lighting in the room. The next phase of the project will be the same shot, from exactly the same place, just rendered with different lighting / moods as instructed by client. Ongoing work for successful applicant.
A simple cad drawing for a staircase/frame for an apartment
I need a quick/simple cad drawing for a staircase in an apartment. We are replacing the staircase and frame and we wanted to put the drawing into cad with the dimensions.
The Water Wheel Kayak
We are looking to blend the kayak with the pedal boat. What we want is to recreate the design thought up by Hobie Cat in which they incorporate a pedal design within the kayak. However, we want the pedals to be linked to two water wheels on the side rather than the "fin" system that Hobie Cat uses. (see photo for details) This kayak needs to incorporate a pedal system where people would normally just rest their feet. It would also have to showcase two water wheels on the side. We want the water wheels to be linked by an axe so that they may be easily removed from the kayak if the user chooses to do so. For kayak base use Prower 13 by Ocean Kayak (picture attached). The new design would have A) two pedals where one would normally rest their feet. (see Slayer 13 picture for pedal design inspiration) B) An axe with two water wheels that would be placed at the front the of kayak above the pedals but below the hatch. (See the water wheel picture for inspiration) We'd like the water wheels to be removable and not as bulky as the one in the "Water Wheel picture" What we need- 2 drawings, one from the top, one from the side (just like the slayer 13 picture)
