I am a mechanical engineer (EIT) and have designed everything from microscale fluids systems, to piping layouts on launch sites, to product prototypes for startups (including my own). I use Geomagic Design CAD software which allows me to export to AutoCAD/SolidWorks, create detailed 2D drawings, or create polished renderings in 3D.
I can turn ideas into reality starting with only a discussion or napkin sketch. I can also make detailed process schematics or layouts using Visio 2013.
