Staff has BSME Mechanical Engineering 20+ years experience designing and engineering machines from concept to install. Typically twice as fast on time for deliverables. At the end of the project, the customer has the information gathered or developed for the job. Nothing is held back and nothing made less accessible to the customer. 8 axis machine with over 250mm of travel and no active feedback with a 5um repeatability. Hydraulic presses up to 400 tons and 100 inches of stroke. Soft package machines with 1000’s of packs per minute. Assembly, sorting, and transport machines. 16 axis bench top machine. Multiple QA and test machines from hand size products to parts weighing 100s of pounds. Food industry machinery. Vacuum enclosures and fixtures drawn down to 2psia. Multiple fixtures, jigs, tombstones, and nest involving mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and hydraulic clamping.

I have over 15 years experience in mechanical design. A quick overview of the types of projects I have designed are; automotive parts assembly, vision and probe inspection systems, manual and automated inspection fixturing, medical tool assembly machinery, product handling and packaging, robot cells, electronics assembly and inspection, and the list goes on. Before designing I was a machinist and machine assembler. I learned most of my skills in the real world and have taken classes to expand my knowledge even further. I have worked with many local automation houses and large manufacturing companies.

I am a machinist and fabricator first, but have extensive experience with 2D and 3D CAD design, modeling, drafting and CAM programming. While not any type of engineer on paper, I have collaborated with some of the smartest people (engineers and technicians alike) I believe exist in several very specific corners of the manufacturing world. My number one goal in designing a part/product/etc. for someone, is to fully understand the expectations of the client...then hopefully carrying those initial ideas to the final stage. Approaching everything with a meticulous, analytical mindset helps enable me to devise more efficient methods of solving problems. What have you got for me to look at?
