Hi, I have been in engineering for 40 years, 15 years in the UK-MOD - aerospace industry and 25 years in oil & gas industry. I served a 5 year apprenticeship in the 70’s with Ferranti-UK working on various radar systems packaging mechanical and electronic components. I then move into the oil industry assisting in the design of subsea tools and ROV’s. I then moved into pipelaying equipment and associated vessels. I classify myself as a Design Draughtsman and have worked in the following areas: mechanical, electronics, hydraulics & structural. I started on a manual drawing board and progressed to CAD back in the 80's, I now use Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for 3D models and 2D drawings. I have worked as a staff employee and contractor, and now have my own company with licensed software and hardware.

Hello. I am Mechanical design engineer with a first class honours degree in mechanical engineering and 5 years design experience. Most of my design experience comes in automated machinery. More recently I have been working within the automotive industry working for one of most globally recognised supercar manufacturers. This role involves working with advanced composite material and the mould tools that form these parts. Advanced composites is a subject I have also wrote a 15,000 word thesis on in my final year of university. and remains a great interest to me.

Ships worked on include Caesar, Audacia, Pioneering Spirit, Largs Bay, Enquest Producer, Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carriers, T26 Frigates. Oil and Gas projects include Buzzard, Dong Siri, Britannia Gas, GDF Suez Cygnus and Nyhamna Expansion Project. Renewable projects include Galloper, Moray east and Triton Knoll Windfarm projects. Models and drawings were completed for items ranging from stairs and ladders to Caisson support clamps and decks. Shop and yard layouts, heavy lifting plans, piping and mechanical items were also completed. I am confident I can provide high quality models and drawings efficiently.
