I am a Turner / Machinist by trade and currently studying towards a career in both Mechatronics and Process Instrumentation at a local university. I started with technical subjects as early as high school and progress onto to an entry level position in the drawing office of a automation company where I gained experience in methods of modular design and CAD packages such as Solid works and Autodesk Inventor. I enrolled into an apprenticeship program where I obtain my red seal in Turning and continued to increase my exposure to FMCG based manufacturing companies by working in various industries such as automotive , pharmaceutical and general manufacturing companies. I have been involved in both the installation, commissioning and maintenance of manufacturing equipment in these industries and carry knowledge beyond the scope of just my current qualification. Therefor I have decides to enrolled at me local university in order to increase my theoretical knowledge on Electrical Engineering, specializing in Mechatronics and Process Instrumentation. I have over 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, within both the government and commercial sectors. I hold both a Bachelor's and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida (Class of 2008 and 2015 respectively), where I was a member of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as the president of the UCF student chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers. My experience spans many creative and complex projects ranging from automobile braking systems to deployable space antennas. I have extensive experience in conceptualizing, designing, and manufacturing of ruggedized designs for use in sub-sea robotics systems as well as COTS electronics for use in extreme environments. I have succeeded in many designs from concept through small scale manufacturing, both for corporations as well as my own business. My sub-sea design work includes the mechanical design of a marine robotics system that provides for a reconfigurable electronics payload, as well as a universal manipulator mounting system. I have also recently developed a marine buoy which included the design and manufacture of sealed pressure vessels. I currently am developing a line of underwater LED lights which I am in the process of taking from prototype to production. These lights are designed to be rugged and work in the harsh marine environment with essentially zero maintenance. I have previously designed and manufactured a line of license plate mounting brackets for various motorcycles. I joined the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Coimbra in 2008, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (post-Bologna). Concludes, at the same institution, the Master in Mechanical Systems and Equipment in 2013, in a total of 5 years of academic career. Associativism was not left out: I joined the Orxestra Pitagórica and was a founding member of the Tuna Académica of the institution where I studied (ISECOTUNA). I was awarded two FCT Research Grants, one in 2013 which focused on the mechanical properties of composite materials, combined forces and interlaminar fracture, another in 2014 in the context of the structural integrity of aeronautical light alloys (propagation of fatigue cracks, overloads, crack closure phenomenon and its measurement by DIC – Digital Image Correlation). I was involved in the Vehicle Transformation Industry, in an ambitious project called TecLife, where I played the role of Production Engineer during a year of great growth and maturation for the company. I continued to work in the automotive area, belonging to the logistics team at Gestamp Vendas Novas, an international group dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of metallic components and assemblies for the automotive industry, with Volkswagen Autoeuropa as its main customer. Given the scope of projects in which I was involved, I acquired solid knowledge in terms of Supply Chain Management, having followed an intense period of growth in production activity, industrialization and adjudication of new projects, always following the Industry 4.0 model. I also played the role of Project Designer at SIRMAF, where I was responsible for the construction project and conversion of special robotic machines for the automotive industry. I also prepared 3D and 2D CAD, specifications, instruction manuals, risk analysis, preventive maintenance tables, etc. I also developed methods and time optimization projects at Paul Stricker, and actively participated in the training of new employees. After some accumulated experience, I continued to develop my career as a Designer Designer at Indusstock, where I was also responsible for the production department. I am currently part of the Riatrónica team, being the Mechanical Project Manager.
