Motion sensor

in 3D Modeling Design held by TD
Contest Ended, Winner(s) have been selected.
Description:
This project is to design the housing for a motion detector for commercial office buildings. it should be approximately 2.5-3.0 inch circle and the body should be no more than 1.0 inch thick. the circle can be bigger if the edges sweep out to with a nice curve back to the ceiling surface. it will mount to a standard t-bar ceiling grid. (the kind of ceiling with the drop in tiles) it should mount in the corner of a light fixture with a portion of the "top" or up facing side exposed to the light fixture. and have a window on the top that looks up at the light... (for a light sensor) the window shall be rectangle and dimensions are: 33.0×10.8mm.

the face which points to the room shall have a PIR lens (like this one www.jvs.de/Carclo_Fresnel/Drawings/PF68_12076_Drawing.pdf

i'd like to receive drawings that are 3d printer ready. ease of mass production and tooling should be considered. drawings should also be open for editing by our team.

Our team will add the holders, screws, clips, etc for the Electronics inside.

the mounting method could be a small piece of spring steel or plastic.

Wants:
The entries should supply us with something we can immediately 3D print, but also easily edit. compatible with Solidworks.
Don't Wants:
this needs to be an attractive design, it can't look like a bar of soap on the ceiling.
Ask for Sample:
i can print my own.

#16 Ceiling Motion Sensor Concept by Morne28
This is a general concept of the ceiling motion sensor which can be altered to fit hanging elements and internal circuitry. General manufacturing techniques can be applied to produce the product and it will also be of value to design packaging to accommodate the product, hanging elements and any required fasteners.

#24 Elegant sensor 1 by Justin Logan
Hi, With limited information on what needs to be enclosed in the sensor and details on the ceiling component that the sensor clips to, the design will require some further work, which I can do with your input.
The design has taken into consideration assembly, The cut line could be moved to the rear.
the Cad has been designed to be adaptive so the shape and size can be altered with ease.
I look forward to receive your feedback.

#65 MOTION SENSOR V2 by RBLdesign
Hi. here is the updated version. The design is the the same like the first one because I like it. :)) I made some technical improvements around the mount, unmount hooks and the light sensor. Easy to mount and doesn`t matter the orientation. added snap hooks for the case parts because screws need a lot of space inside the case. STEP file attached for more info. :)

Hi
I use magnet to attach the assembly to the ceiling bar, and i use special holder, so you can twist it base on your requirement, if course you need little bit slid tolerance on the holder and top case sot it wan't twisted accidentally.

I worked on only the cosmetics and size here. If I am considered, I will complete the job adding proper standoffs for the electronics, along with fastening points. Good luck with your quest for product development via cadcrowd.

#13 Motion Sensor by Hitarth Raval
The created model and assembly are to the dimensions as required. The mounting device can be attached to the given hole and space (using a steel spring or plastic piece would be easier. ) The model is easily editable in SolidWorks and satisfies the requirements. The ergonomics and aesthetics are really been worked upon in the project.

Body is of pvc plastic and cover is made from clear frosted plastic. A clamp is fitted in the body with the help of which assembly can be easily mounted on the T bar. Clamp can be redesigned as per the profile of T bar.

#30 2nd Sensor by Justin Logan
As with my previous submission both of these sensors would simply twist and latch tho the roof strut. This version was created with the same CAD I used previously and just changed a couple inputs to give a rippled design. I have supplied a .STP File which should be able to be imported to Solidworks, and the original Catia V5 CAD. I look forward to your feedback.
Regards,
Justin

Thank you to EVERYONE who entered this contest, so many great submissions. I will need to take a couple of days to determine the best submission, we expected to see 4 or 5, not 65! Thanks again, your creativity and skill is amazing. Sorry to those that were not selected, i could only choose one according to the rules of the contest.

that's possible i guess.... round isn't a true requirement, more an industry standard. feel free to play around with the shape. Thanks! you can also expand to up to 5 inches for the overall dimensions to move the solar cell further under the light fixture.

Hi TD. Any chance we can work with a different shape instead of cylindrical? I have an idea but perhaps you don't want to explore.

Dwarven Forge Bracelet
A bracelet design to complement our long standing line of Dungeons and Dragons/fantasy rpg terrain. Please view our website -- dwarvenforge.com -- to develop a sense for our product. You can also look at our recent Kickstarter campaign -- http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1745470388/1826778276?token=2a7841d2 (see "Game Tiles" on kickstarter.com). I'd start with a bangle, probably with one main charm, a small crystal and a small charm with our logo -- kind of like "Alex & Ani" level of complexity, but for gamers. The main charm should probably be metal. The bracelets are for women, gamers or partners of gamers.
Solidworks Car model
I am looking for someone to model in solidworks a replica of a car already on the market. I like super cars and classic cars! The file needs to be somewhat editable in solidworks and renderable in keyshot. The contest is quite open ended, the more detail the better.
Spa/health club annex
Convert a 2D, basic floor plan of spa/health facility into a 3D floor plan of spa/health facility. The project will require some creative adjustments to accentuate the look and feel of the facility to align with a spa-like environment. The addition of furniture items typical to spa/health settings will be required. This is a concept project and dimensions may change in the future as the project develops. The final objective/goal is a 3D model that can be used to confirm final dimensions, details, and other information with a larger stakeholder group as the project develops to a final stage of execution.
Hinge for mailbox
We are designing a thick gauge aluminum mailbox (0.080” aluminum (2024 or similar) front and back; ¼” (6061 or similar) lid). We are having problems finding an off-the-shelf hinge for the lid that meets our evaluation criteria (below). Lid is a thick, flat piece of aluminum, no bends. Final product will be powder-coated.
Leather bracelet design
Hello I need to design a stylish and interesting leather bracelets or leather and steel bracelets with the emphasize on a leather. I will attach some pictures with the similar items to what I want. It should be original and elegant. If I like the design, we will develop further relationship, as I will be ordering design continuously. I am looking forward for someone, who is passionate about leather jewelry.
