Experience

  • CAD-BIM Modeler Neptune · Freelance Sep 2006 – Present 20 yrs Saint Petersburg, Russia My experience spans mechanical design, 3D modelling, and the preparation of manufacturing documentation. Since 2006, I have held mechanical engineering roles, including Chief Design Engineer. Since 2017, I have worked remotely on a project basis.

    Mechanical Design for Manufacturing

I have worked on retail fixtures, sheet-metal and aluminium structures, façade components, and mechanical components for electronic equipment. My responsibilities included designing parts and assemblies, preparing engineering drawings and bills of materials in accordance with ESKD standards, and developing designs with manufacturing and assembly requirements in mind.

    Tooling and Production Support

I have experience designing foundry and heat-treatment tooling, as well as coordinating production activities. This background helps me account for manufacturing constraints during the design stage rather than addressing them only after documentation reaches the workshop.

    Parametric Modelling and Material Estimation

I have developed parametric models and solutions for calculating material requirements. In one project, this helped reduce quotation preparation time by 30%.

    CAD and Visualisation

My primary tools are SolidWorks and KOMPAS-3D. I have also worked with Inventor, Creo, AutoCAD, and Fusion 360. My 3D visualisation experience allows me to present design solutions clearly and explain how a product is structured to clients.

My key strength is the combination of spatial reasoning, manufacturing experience, and detailed CAD development skills. I am particularly interested in projects that go beyond modelling—finding practical mechanical solutions, developing component layouts, and establishing a solid foundation for further product development.
