Experience

  • 3D Product Designer & CAD Specialist CORA · Freelance Apr 2018 – Present 8 yrs 4 mos Veneto, Italy 3D product development for fashion accessories, jewellery, leather goods and metal components, with a particular focus on high-quality brass micro-casting.

I work closely with a specialized manufacturing company in the Vicenza area, developing components and finished jewellery and accessory pieces for leading fashion and luxury brands.

My experience covers the entire product development process, from initial concept and 3D CAD modelling through prototyping, casting, finishing and the final product.

Working closely with the manufacturing process has given me a strong practical understanding of materials, production constraints and problem-solving. I develop 3D models with the final manufacturing process in mind, identifying and resolving potential issues throughout the production process.

I have experience with products involving galvanic finishing, crystals and pre-set stones, enamelling and other finishing processes.

Education

  • Scuola Italiana Design Diploma & Master in design, Industrial Design, A-A 2004 – 2007 Activities and Societies: Collaborative design projects and multidisciplinary teamwork. Development of projects in small teams, working on real-world briefs commissioned by companies in the Veneto region. The first two years focused on graphic design, product design and 3D modelling, combined with studies in art history, design history, engineering, technical drawing, materials and manufacturing processes.

During the final year, we worked in small multidisciplinary teams on real-world projects commissioned by established companies in the Veneto region, including Aprilia, Lamborghini, Roncato, Arneg and Selle San Marco. These projects involved interpreting professional briefs, developing design concepts and working through the practical constraints of industrial products and manufacturing.
