About
I'm a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Metso — the company most people in mining and metals know as the old Outotec / Allis-Chalmers / Svedala / Lurgi lineage — so I've spent my days around some of the heaviest and most demanding equipment in the industry: rotary kilns, coolers, dryers, straight-grate and grate-kiln pelletizing lines, and combustion/burner systems for iron ore and smelting plants.
I don't just push features on a screen — I design equipment that actually gets built, ships to plants in Australia, Sweden, Indonesia and India, and has to survive real operating conditions. When a client hands me an old drawing or a rough sketch, I know what the part is for, so the model comes out right the first time.
What I mostly do for freelance clients:
- Turning old 2D drawings, scanned prints or PDFs into clean, fully parametric 3D models (SolidWorks or Inventor).
- 3D-to-3D rework — remodelling messy imported geometry into proper feature-based, editable models.
- Reverse engineering parts from photos and measurements when the original drawings are gone.
- Production-ready manufacturing drawings with proper GD&T, tolerances and BOMs.
- Weldments, sheet metal, large assemblies, and skeleton / top-down layouts for families of parts.
I care about the boring things that separate a good model from a bad one — clean feature trees, correct references, sensible naming, drawings a shop can actually read. I'm also comfortable with the messy real-world stuff: legacy revisions, mixed units, incomplete data, and vendor back-and-forth.
I'm easy to talk to, I ask questions early instead of guessing, and I'd rather do a small paid test part first so you know exactly what you're getting before committing to a bigger job.

- Senior Mechanical Engineer Metso Outotec · Full-time Apr 2026 – Present 3 mos Vadodara, GJ, India Lead engineer on brownfield and aftermarket upgrades for rotary kilns, coolers, dryers and grate-kiln / straight-grate pelletizing systems built on Metso, Allis-Chalmers, Svedala, KVS and Outotec-Lurgi legacy platforms. I handle burner and combustion carriage replacements, build and maintain the 3DX Enovia PLM product structure for the burner product line, and review P&IDs / PFDs for natural gas, bio-fuel, NCG and hydrogen-ready systems. I also authored the weld-cracking root cause report for the LKAB Kiruna site in the Arctic, which was accepted by the client with zero rework. Part of the job currently is supplier engineering support, brownfield site surveys,3D Scanning, Supplier quality inspection and approvals, mentoring junior engineers on Inventor, Vault, EDM, Solidworks worflows and critical thinking how textboks are not relevant these days.
- Mechanical engieer Metso Outotec · Full-time Aug 2022 – Apr 2026 3 yrs 8 mos Vadodara, GJ, India Designed complete rotating-equipment engineering packages for global OEM and aftermarket clients, and cut BOM delivery times by about 15% by tidying up the workflow. Did full kiln drive sizing for a 12 ft × 100 ft iron ore rotary kiln with zero rework, ran Hertzian contact and fatigue analysis in ANSYS on pellet plant guide rails to kill a recurring field failure, and set up top-down skeleton modelling in SolidWorks for parametric burner families. I also wrote SolidWorks VBA macros that cut repetitive property entry time by roughly 60% on large assemblies, and led a solo combustion-system site survey at Freeport McMoRan in Indonesia. Supported proposals for JSW Steel, TATA Steel, SAIL, BHP Australia, Rio Tinto, POSCO and LKAB.
