  • Site grading design Site grading · Freelance Apr 2026 – Apr 2026 0 mos Australia The client requested a site grading and earthwork design for a residential lot to ensure proper drainage, safe access, and efficient use of the land. The main goal was to achieve a balanced cut and fill solution while keeping slopes within acceptable limits and protecting adjacent properties.

    One of the key challenges was the uneven existing terrain and limited space, which required careful elevation control to avoid excessive excavation and potential drainage issues. In addition, the driveway elevation needed to smoothly connect to the existing road while maintaining proper slope.

    I addressed these challenges by analyzing the existing topography, proposing optimized finished grade elevations, and developing a grading layout that clearly defines slope directions and drainage flow. Cut and fill volumes were calculated to support cost-effective construction and minimize earthwork.

    The final deliverables included a clear grading plan, elevation references, and cut & fill calculations, helping the client confidently proceed to the next design and construction stages.

    Through close collaboration and detailed planning, I created practical and cost-effective solutions that balanced performance with design intent. I also developed coordinated drawings to avoid construction conflicts, optimized equipment selection for energy efficiency, and ensured the systems would be reliable and easy to maintain.

  • Residential 2D Floor Plan & MEP Layouts This project involved the complete preparation of residential construction drawings, including a detailed 2D floor plan, electrical layout, and plumbing layout. The objective was to create a clear, accurate, and construction-ready documentation package that would support both permitting and on-site execution.

    The floor plan was carefully developed to optimise space utilisation, functionality, and circulation while incorporating all required dimensions, room labels, door and window placements, and architectural annotations. Based on the approved floor plan, a comprehensive electrical layout was created, showing lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, dedicated circuits, and electrical equipment locations to ensure a safe and efficient electrical system.

    In addition, a coordinated plumbing layout was designed, including water supply lines, drainage routing, plumbing fixtures, and system connections. Special attention was given to minimizing installation conflicts and maintaining efficient service distribution throughout the building.

    The final deliverables provided a complete set of professional drawings that improved construction coordination, reduced potential site issues, and enabled smooth communication between homeowners, contractors, and consultants.
