• Design / NPD Manager Alphacraft Pvt Ltd · Full-time Feb 2004 – Apr 2025 21 yrs 2 mos Coimbatore, TN, India mechanical engineering professional with 22 years of experience in the engineering field. In the first two years of my career, I gained diverse experience as a CNC operator, quality control specialist, and small motor designer. Later, I transitioned into the aluminum die casting design field, specializing in flow analysis using MAGMA software and ADSTEFAN, die design using CREO (formerly Pro/E) CAD software. I have expertise in HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting), GDC (Gravity Die Casting), TGDC (Tilt Gravity Die Casting), and LPDC (Low Pressure Die Casting). My skills include die design, runner and gate calculations, and providing aluminum casting solutions.
  A Design Manager & New Product Development (NPD) Manager leads product design and development from concept to production, ensuring innovation, quality, and manufacturability. Key responsibilities include managing design teams, optimizing designs, and coordinating with cross-
  functional teams for seamless product introduction. The role utilizes advanced software tools such as CREO for 3D modeling and design, MAGMA for casting simulation, ADSTEFAN for Casting Simulation (TGDC,GDC,LPDC) analysis, and AutoCAD for technical drafting and documentation. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and proficiency in these tools are essential for delivering high-performance products on time and within budget while meeting industry standards.

  1. Product Design and Development:
  • Lead the design and development of new products from ideation through to production.
  • Work closely with R&D, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure that designs meet customer needs, technical requirements, and manufacturing
  capabilities.
  • Conduct design reviews and present design concepts, prototypes, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Define and manage the product development roadmap, ensuring that milestones and timelines are met.
