I am a design engineer with experience in designing products and tooling for both low- and high-volume manufacturing. Whether you need to reverse-engineer a broken component, model your on-shored product, model and render a new product or concept, produce RFQ-ready technical drawings with full GD&T, or develop quality, easy-to-use tooling/jigs/fixtures for your manufacturing line, I can do it! I am a Certified SolidWorks Professional and an expert in Fusion360 - licenses for both of which I own. In particular, I excel at building parametric, equation-driven models and design tables at the part, sub-assembly, and top-level assembly levels. I am also experienced at parametrically linking Solidworks drawings for automatic information updates. My manufacturing experience includes injection molding, thermoforming, extrusion, acoustic felt, sheet metal, steel/concrete pipe, additive manufacturing, 3-axis CNC, and product assembly. I've reverse-engineered, designed, and revised hundreds of custom products and tools. Jeff Peterson has 20 yeas 3D CAD experience and he started his career working in a small machine shops and factories. He graduated up through the trades. Got his degree in Vocational Education in Machine Trades after a short career teaching High School he took a position in industry as a inspector in the quality control department of an automotive seat belt company. He was promoted into engineering where he was assigned to the drafting and modeling department. From there he was promoted into a new R&D department. He came up with many new ideas and 5 were patented. And being the designer he was responsible for the product including purchasing, incoming inspection, manufacturing, testing, quality control, shipping and finally field return analysis. He furthered his career by taking a position position with an automotive supplier as a designer of plastic parts, rubber hoses, ridged steel tubes, stamped metal, plastic injection molds for Ford, Chrysler, GM, Honda, Nissan, John Deere, Caterpillar, and Navistar. I'm a USAF Veteran with a broad background in Engineering. I've been a CNC Programmer for fabrication and Machining centers. I've been doing Product and Tool Design for 22 years. Tooling including injection molds, weld and inspection fixtures. Smash, trim and pierce dies and various manufacturing aids such as lifts, installation tools, etc. Product design experience involves molded parts, large weldments, large assemblies with multiple configurations.
