Using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Blender, Sketchup and Fusion 360, I help clients turn early ideas, sketches and existing models into practical products that can be prototyped and manufactured. I enjoy solving the details that make a design work in the real world not only making it look good on the screen. That means thinking carefully about how each part fits, how the product will be assembled, where the electronics will sit, and whether the manufacturer can produce it efficiently. Service -> Industrial and Mechanical Design Industrial concept design : I develop several suitable design ideas based on the product's size, purpose, industry, appearance and user experience. Mechanical CAD design : I create accurate 3D parts and assemblies with practical dimensions, tolerances, materials, fasteners and manufacturing details. PCB integrated enclosure design : I design the enclosure around the actual PCB, battery, buttons, display, antennas, connectors, sensors and wiring rather than treating the electronics as an afterthought. Design review and problem solving : I look for interference, weak features, poor alignment, difficult assembly, leakage risks, heat buildup, and other issues that may cause trouble during prototyping or production. Technical drawings : I prepare clear manufacturing and assembly drawings, exploded views, BOMs, and properly organized STEP, STL, DWG, DXF and PDF files. Thermal calculation and simulation : I evaluate heat sources, airflow, enclosure temperature and cooling options to help protect the electronics and maintain reliable operation. 3D printing and verification : I prepare print ready models and use prototypes to check fit, PCB placement, button movement, fastening, accessibility and complete assembly. Injection-molding preparation : I refine wall thicknesses, ribs, bosses, draft angles, fillets, parting considerations and other details needed for practical mold production. Cost and manufacturing optimization : I look for sensible ways to simplify parts, reduce material use, shorten assembly and control production costs without weakening the design. Service -> Project Support I organize the work into clear stages so you always know what is being developed and what will be delivered. I communicate directly and honestly, especially when I see a technical risk or a simpler way to solve a problem. I work comfortably with clients, electronics engineers, manufacturers and prototype shops to keep everyone aligned. I have 8 years of design experience in Start-up environments. I have been using Solidwork for 15 years now, both in and out of college, and I have my own copies of both SolidWorks Premium and SolidWorks Simulation Pro. This allows me to not only design a full CAD model but also perform FEA simulations to determine strength. I also have 5 years of hands on manufacturing experience where I not only designed equipment but would then build it myself. This ranged from hydraulic power sources to welding robots to large scale, high precision welding jigs and this has given me a unique understanding into how to design things so they can also be built easily. I can do basic CAD models based off of sketches and return to you any part files you may need such as STEP, DXF, DWG or anything else needed for manufacturing purposes. I can also do ground up design of a project from just a basic concept including all engineering work and part sourcing. I am very detailed in my work and always try to find the best possible solution to the problem at hand as quickly as possible. I design with both the final assembly and aesthetics in mind to insure that the final product goes together smoothly and looks as good as it functions.
