I am a dedicated Design Drafter with expertise in Mechanical & Architectural Design. I worked as an AutoCad Drafter for 5 years following school in the granite industry. For the past 3.5 years, I have been in Mechanical Design using Solid Works & Solid Edge. I can produce 2D prints using DraftSight (AutoCad clone). I can also produce 3D models using the aforementioned programs. I can also produce photo-realistic renderings out of CAD models. I was a CAD instructor at a 3 county vocational school for 25 years where I taught high school students Cad architectural and Mechanical Drafting. Before that I worked for a parking meter company as a cad and board design drafter. I have freelanced for over 15 years in Architectural residential drafting, patent drawings, and Mechanical drafting. And I am ADDA Certified in both Architectural and Mechanical drafting. I've worked in Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering for the past 20+ years. I'm currently an architectural designer but also do product design, civil design, as well as furniture/interior design. Architecture (software - Auto Cad, Revit, and Chief Architect): I've design residential houses using CMU block (Florida) and also using conc. poured basement foundations with framed walls (BC, Canada). I have also designed houses with ICF construction and know current architectural standards and building codes (IRC, BCBC, CBC, etc.). A lot of the current styles I design are modern, craftsman, and Mediterranean style houses. Mechanical Engineering (software - Solid Works): I've worked several years in the mechanical design field and have worked with gears, flanges, piping, plenums, sheet metal, CNC programming, and welding/bending/tolerances. Product Design (software - Auto CAD 3D & Solid Works): I've done some work with product design, have read and researched ways products are manufactured, and have designed improvements on current product trends. Plastic molds are a dominant feature for product design and knowing your type of plastic and its use play major roles during the design process. I started my cad drafting career in telecommunications drafting inside outside plant cable designs for Sprint, Siemens, and Time Warner. I started drafting early during my junior high school years earning awards at the trade fairs. Major clients for campus installs where Bowling Green University, Kent State, placed fiber optic installs in eastern southern and western Ohio. I then started working for architects in central and northern Ohio gaining experience in commercial, health care, and residential, construction. I then freelance mechanical, electrical and architectural drafting services to clients in central Ohio and the east coast of Texas. I also with a team designed automated assembly lines for the tire industry Firestone, BF Goodrich, Goodyear. The tire plants where located in the US Mexico and Canada. I also draft additions, house plans, and renovations for local builders I submitted the plans to codes and permits for approval when tasked to do so. During the 80’s I was an armor tank crewman in the United States Army. I grew up in the construction trades my father was a contractor I also did and still do on occasion contract construction in central Ohio.

While continuing with that practice I moved on to 2d drafting in AutoCAD, and after becoming proficient moved into both architectural drafting and mechanical modeling. After beginning my early college years I was able to earn a certification in SolidWorks and began fulfilling clients needs in 3d modeling. Hello, I am currently learning Revit and Civil 3D on an Autodesk 2021 seat and I would enjoy putting the license to work. Having experience with both engineering and drafting design, I would like to provide services utilizing Revit Architectural and Structural packages. Having a degree in Civil Engineering gives me the background for understand the design requirements for the structural integrity of the structure. The majority of design experience is with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and allowable steel design is about 14 years. One year I worked as a drafting contractor bidding for bridge beam shop drawings. (20% of work) However, I also am interested in CAD design. I have a drafting degree in Architectural/Mechanical Drafting and am seeking to update my skills with Autodesk certification.
