I am a Certified Professional Building Designer with 7 years of hands on Architectural Design and Drafting experience. I am highly proficient in using Sketchup Pro and Layout, as well as AutoCAD to produce construction and design documents. My experience pertains to producing design drawings for residential and light commercial projects, and for all phases including Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents. I maintain my title as Certified Professional Building Designer with the National Council of Building Designer Certification, Which requires at least 6 years of Drafting Experience to qualify to take the exam. Upon successfully passing the exam it then requires 8 credit hours of continuous education per year to maintain certified status.

I am a passionate, fresh designer with a natural talent for visual design. My personal focus is on architecture and interior spaces, but my creative and practical approach has a wide range of uses. I use Revit the most, and I can create components (families), floorplans, 3D and photorealistic renders, section views, and more. I am also skilled at AutoCAD and can create isometric, 2D, and 3D drawings and blocks. I operated my own business in designing and building furniture and decor items for personal clients and have designed and built nearly all the furniture in my own home. I am harnessing my lifetime experience of design and building, and honing my new CADD skills to build a portfolio that showcases my style. Largely self-taught, I increase my knowledge daily in architectural modeling and design through structured practice, heavy research, and practical application (designing objects by hand or in CAD and then building them myself). As a student in both vocational training and at university, I have previously amazed teachers and colleagues with my original conceptions in residential, interior, furniture, and commercial designs. I have 10 years experience in a sheet metal and machine shop engineering environment. In those 10 years, I have honed my skills in Solidworks and cad creation from both a technical and manufacturing production perspective. Creating 3D models, drafting blue prints and deriving functional flat patterns for use in production are daily tasks. I also regularly consult customers with concerns or recommendations which would improve their design cost-wise during manufacturing. I pride myself on my efficiency, creativity and attention to detail. A project example which I view as an accomplishment: I redesigned a long time job to meet evolving customer quality expectations while reducing engineering and planning costs. Using Solidworks, I created 3d models for the complex job's assemblies using dozens of configurations which were easily editable for both revision changes and use in similar jobs. This change reduced planning, drawing, drafting, and programming time by over 75% and greatly reduced the chance of error.

Over 10 years of designing heavy lifting equipment. This includes new designs and modernizing old equipment. I've provided fabrication shops with the details they need to fabricate components. These components were then assembled and installed by local field operatives. I worked closely with both the fabricators and installers to ensure the drawings they received were accurate and comprehensible. Depending on the project some drawings were made by transferring existing paper drawings to CAD and updating them as necessary to show new components and design changes.
