I am a passionate, fresh designer with a natural talent for visual design. My personal focus is on architecture and interior spaces, but my creative and practical approach has a wide range of uses. I use Revit the most, and I can create components (families), floorplans, 3D and photorealistic renders, section views, and more. I am also skilled at AutoCAD and can create isometric, 2D, and 3D drawings and blocks. I operated my own business in designing and building furniture and decor items for personal clients and have designed and built nearly all the furniture in my own home. I am harnessing my lifetime experience of design and building, and honing my new CADD skills to build a portfolio that showcases my style. Largely self-taught, I increase my knowledge daily in architectural modeling and design through structured practice, heavy research, and practical application (designing objects by hand or in CAD and then building them myself). As a student in both vocational training and at university, I have previously amazed teachers and colleagues with my original conceptions in residential, interior, furniture, and commercial designs. Gillette Design Studio concept emerged as an idea in the summer of 2018 as a result of a daunting task in renovating a rental home that was in much needed repairs. We familiarized ourselves with the documentation necessary to obtain the appropriate permits from the city. On hindsight, going through the maze of the permit process, was easier than spending a fortune in hiring someone to prepare and draw our construction drawings. We decided to prepare our own construction drawings. Well, it worked out. The plans were approved and we were able to get the renovation permitted. Hence, our concept was born. To provide affordable drafting services while sharing useful information. Gillette Design Studio provides affordable architectural drafting and measurement services to homeowners, contractors, architects, engineers, realtors and interior designers. Whether you’re looking for a traditional, Mediterranean or hill country, I can help you design your perfect dream home. We can start from scratch, combine ideas from many plans, or base off an existing plan. My goal is to take your thoughts and ideas and put them to work to come up with a floor plan focusing on square footage, flow of the plan, your living habits, and any lot restrictions. The final set of plans will include: - floor plan - exterior elevations - electrical plan - roof plan - rough plumbing/form layout - any necessary interior details/elevations - site plan (if required) The entire design process typically takes from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the house and your availability for modification meetings/emails/phone calls. Using these plans you will be able to build the house and submit for permitting and engineering (framing and froundation). Get the design services comparable to a large company or architect at half the cost. I charge $1.25 per total covered square foot. I look forward helping you and your family design your dream home.
