I have an integrated master’s degree in production engineering and management and until October I was employed as a computer numerical control (CNC) machine operator with a small, but well known, industrial business in Athens, called CNC Solutions. However, I feel that it is time to move into a more challenging position where I can put my skills, training and ambition to good use. My main field of interest is “engineering design” and I have academic experience at a pretty decent level, especially considering my little working experience in the field. Also, I feel like being involved in the production process, management and logistics of a business. During my studies in Technical University of Crete and in Politechnika Lubelska (via Erasmus+ program), I have participated in many courses concerning mechanical drawing, CAD, CAM, 3D modeling, product design, production technology. Also, throughout the completion of my thesis, with a title of “Study of rendering of mechanical parts by 3D Studio Max”, I worked on Computer-aided design, mechanical drawing and rendering of mechanical parts, for educational use. Due to my studies and my thesis, I have experience creating designs using Autodesk Inventor 2020 and Catia V5 and generating renderings, using 3D Studio Max. As mentioned before, my main working experience was with CNC Solutions. It is a company that provides CNC machining of high precision and complexity, ensuring high quality specifications of various industrial sectors such as aerospace, automotive industry, shipping, defense and medical equipment. When I first graduated, I thought that working in a company like this would be the perfect opportunity in order to gain knowledge and upgrade my skills in the field of production. My job was related to the production process of parts, including the identification of equipment that is best to be used, the CNC programming on Fanuc G-Code, the presetting of Haas and Okuma CNC lathes and the maintenance of desirable geometry of produced parts, using gages and measuring instruments in order to meet tolerance and geometry requirements. During my studies, I was a volunteering member in a Non-Government Organisation, called Youth Entrepreneurship Club (YEC), for four years. Several times, I led a team of 8 interns, via Erasmus+ program, in elaborating departments such as web development & design, marketing, human relations, social media, and of more than 20 Greek volunteers, in order to organize events, seminars and meetings concerning young entrepreneurship and start-up businesses, from scratch. During my time being a volunteer at YEC, I had responsibilities for coordinating logistics and errands and on team leadership at Startup Europe Week Crete, a paneuropean entrepreneurship conference, with more than 1200 participants, 25 speakers, 80 volunteers, 21 mentors in the 4 regions of Crete, each year of 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019. My skills include having great communication abilities, being hardworker and a team player, that can also stand alone. I have the ability to work under pressure. I believe that routine impinge on the quality of the result, and I am always looking for challenges that push me to give my best and to hatch working solutions. I am very much enthusiastic about 3D design, especially of mechanical parts and assemblies and through my studies I have gained a lot of knowledge that I want to improve. Due to my job, I daily face the manufacturing process of mechanical parts, just like the ones I designed for my thesis, therefore I can improve my prowess in both fields of my interest.
