Hello! My name is Alex. I come from an academic background in Civil Engineering as well as completing a Master degree in Digital Media. I have a passion for solving complex design problems-- always aiming to achieve efficiency, aesthetic appeal, and design optimization in my work. I currently work as a Design Engineer, where my job requires me to run through the design conceptualization process, moving conceptual work into a 3D CAD model (typically using Inventor, AutoCAD 3D, or Rhino), and finally sending manufacturing/fabrication drawings (2D drawings and design manuals) off to either the in-house or third party fabrication parties. I would love to apply my skills to your next CAD project!

We're Designworx Ltd, a Millennium award winning small company that specialises in 3D CAD design and printing. We have over 25 years of experience working in many varied industries from aerospace & military to musical instruments. We use Autodesk Inventor as our main CAD package and can provide services ranging from design concepts through to finished products using our 3D printing knowledge and varied supplier base. We're happy to work under an NDA if required. We have a Zortrax M200 3D Printer and are able to produce physical models / mock-ups of your designs if required

I am a designer and engineer that has worked on a very wide variety of projects over the years. Solidworks is my 3D modelling program of choice. My background is that I grew up in Birmingham, studied and worked in Bristol and currently live in London. I have a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, and worked a total of six years at Airbus (formerly British Aerospace). I ended up as a Structural Design Engineer, working with CAD, focussing on wing design for research and new projects. I left Airbus to pursue further studies and completed the Innovation Design Engineering course, a combined MA/MSc co-run by the Royal College of Art and Imperial College in the summer of 2011. I have been freelancing since then on a wide variety of tasks, running the gamut from creative to technical for such clients as Epson, Intel, Loowatt, the Royal College Of Art, Seeper, Spark Create, Studio XO and WPP. I have helped make fashion garments with integrated technology for major pop stars, exhibition designs on the future of retail and even a waterless toilet for use in developing countries. I am always on the lookout for new, interesting adventures and challenges, and work on many projects in my spare time to increase my learning.
