About the job
Hi! I'm building a small boutique resort in Port Barton, Palawan — one of the most beautiful and unspoiled corners of the Philippines — and I'm looking for a talented architect or designer to help me bring this vision to life.
This is a personal owner-operated project, driven by a clear design vision and a lot of passion. I have already prepared a detailed Scope of Work (attached) that covers structural requirements, design style, materials, equipment, and deliverables. What I need now is a creative professional who can take this brief and turn it into stunning drawings and 3D renders.
The Project at a Glance
• 📍 Location: Port Barton, Palawan, Philippines (700 sqm flat urban lot, ~50m from the sea)
• 🏨 Programme: 6 guest rooms (5 standard + 1 PWD) + swimming pool + outdoor bar + 2 technical buildings
• 🌿 Style: Boutique Jungle Resort — immersive tropical experience from entrance gate to guest room. Think lush greenery, rattan, natural stone, hardwood, Balinese roof details.
• 🏗️ Structure: 3 × two-storey RC buildings at the rear; 2 technical buildings flanking a dramatic arched entrance gate with vertical green walls
• 🏊 Pool: Freeform / curved, natural stone tile, viridian colour, possible infinity edge — I'd love 3 design options
• 🍹 Bar: Fully outdoor, covered, exposed timber or thatch ceiling — jungle atmosphere, connected to the pool
• 💰 Budget: ₱15,000,000 (≈ USD 260,000) all-in — realistic, so smart design choices matter

The Design Vision
The concept is a journey. From the street, guests pass through a massive, overgrown arched gate into a private world — jungle greenery everywhere, the sound of water, a hidden reception, and then the reveal: the pool, the bar, and the rooms beyond. Every detail, from the suspended king beds to the rattan terrace screens and the stone-clad Italian showers, should feel curated, natural, and unforgettable.
Reference: Bathala Resort (Bohol, Philippines). Pinterest board attached. Materials to use: bamboo, rattan, natural stone, hardwood, driftwood. Materials to AVOID: exposed concrete, metal cladding, PVC.
What I'm Looking For
The work is split into a clear design-first workflow — no construction documents until the concept is approved:
Concept & 3D renders: mood boards, sketches, site plan, 3D exterior (min. 4 angles) and interior renders (room + bathroom). ⚠️ No further work proceeds without client approval at this stage.
Ideal Profile
• Experience designing tropical resorts, boutique hotels, or high-end residential in the Philippines or Southeast Asia
• Strong 3D visualisation skills (SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, or similar)
• Comfortable working remotely with a hands-on owner
• Creative, communicative, and detail-oriented
How to Apply
Please send me:
• A short intro about yourself and your relevant experience
• 2–3 examples of similar tropical / resort projects you have designed
• Your proposed approach and timeline for Step 1 (concept + renders)
The full Scope of Work document is attached to this posting. I encourage you to read it before applying — it will give you a very clear picture of what we're building and how seriously this project has been thought through. Please note this is a one-time project
