I am an Electrical Engineer who is conversant with all aspects of consultancy works associated with Electrical Services installations including lighting design, small power, raw power and clean power installations. Low and Medium Voltage switchgear design and installation, fire alarm detection, structured cabling and security installations. Generator back up design and installation, lifts and escalator installations. This also involves Feasibility Studies and Reports, Planning Proposals, Cost Estimates, Detailed Electrical Services Project Design, Specifications and Bills of Quantities, Contract Management and Cost Control, Preparation and Settlement of Interim and Final Contract Accounts, Site Supervision, Commissioning and Advice on Operation of Plant, Provision of Record Plans, and Maintenance Programmes. Accomplishments • Conducted site assessments of electrical components and • Obtained clients' detailed briefs through collaboration with project managers and architects. • Coordinated project planning and design reviews of Electrical Engineering Works while Liaising with other consultants commissioned to support design works for construction. • Recommended sustainable and cost-effective solutions through the preparation of comprehensive and accurate Project cost Estimates, Technical Specifications and Bills of Quantities of electrical works, • Provided technical support in Tender processes, analysis and Evaluation, Reporting and award of contracts that supported the procurement team. • Spearheaded the Preparation of Interim Valuations, Variation Orders, Final Accounts, and closure documents, including snag lists for Electrical Installations. • Chaired the handover meetings in project initiation and handover stages while delegating tasks with timelines to different teams. • Supervised contractors in the project construction process, monitored site work through site visits, verified and approved material specification and quality during installations, testing and commissioning electrical services. • Executed the project closure process, handing over after the defects liability period and issued high quality related documentation such as as-built drawings, maintenance manuals and product warranties for archiving. • Ensured that all engineering work was carried out as per specifications, statutory requirements, laws, rules, regulations and other contractual requirements, with due regard to safety, operability and maintainability. Key Achievements • Implemented more than 20 energy efficient projects successfully spanning industrial buildings, housing schemes, high-rise office buildings, hospitals, hotels and educational institutions. • Delivered projects worth more than Kshs 40 million in electrical installations project cost. • Addressed simple and complex issues that emerge during a project cycle through work coordination and finding alternative solutions to engineering problems. • Performed value engineering in projects to lower the cost of projects and meet clients’ budgets. • Executed super-quality projects within desired timelines bringing satisfaction to clients.

From a young age, I have been fascinated by the power of electricity and its ability to transform the world around us. This fascination led me to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. In my current role, I am involved in conducting Electrical Designs & Engineering studies for various Engineering projects that include Power Designs, Control Designs, and Instrumentation Designs for oil & gas plants and other industrial plants.
