Description:
We are looking to transition a functional internal 3d printed prototype into a polished, consumer-ready high end speaker product. Our device is an ambient ai smart speaker with glowing LED's

We have a fixed set of internal components that must be housed within a premium, minimalist enclosure. The design should prioritize a "lifestyle" aesthetic, utilizing high-quality exterior and soft, diffused ambient lighting.

Prototype Demo: x.com/openhome/status/2033534986192613561
Wants:
Renderings of something that can actually be manufactured, even if it's 3d printing + small batch prototype.

Videos and images of the current prototype are attached.

We require a DFM-ready enclosure rendering that maintains the current internal volume for the Raspberry Pi 4, BMR speaker, and passive radiators. The goal is to move from a 3D-printed plastic grille to a high-end, (maybe fabric-wrapped aesthetic) with hidden fasteners and diffused lighting. The design must ensure proper alignment for the USB-C power port and maintain the acoustic seal for the internal audio box.

Hi Jessel! Great concept. I see you're using a Raspberry Pi 4 and BMR drivers. I can design a premium, lifestyle-oriented housing for this, optimized for FDM 3D printing (DFM) with hidden fasteners and integrated cable
management.
I'll start working on the concept using standard RPi4 dimensions. If you have specific 3D models or datasheets for your chosen BMR drivers and passive radiators,
please let me know so I can ensure a perfect internal fit and acoustic seal from the start.
Looking forward to showing you my design!

Your project is very well thought out and has strong potential as a premium consumer AI speaker product. Moving from a functional 3D-printed prototype to a manufacturable high-end enclosure will require careful balance between aesthetics, acoustics, thermal management, hidden assembly, and LED diffusion quality.

I can help develop a DFM-ready enclosure concept that maintains the current internal architecture while upgrading the product into a polished lifestyle grade design with premium materials and manufacturable construction.

do you already have the exact dimensions and mounting positions of all internal components finalized Raspberry Pi 4, BMR driver, passive radiators, LEDs, PCB placements, cable routing, and airflow requirements or are you expecting the enclosure design phase to also optimize and reorganize the internal mechanical layout?

Undo
Our company is called Undo The Booze. We are vitamins/supplement company. Our product is a vitamin packet that makes the morning after drinking much easier. People take our pill packs before they go to bed on night they drink to much. Because people drink heavily at weddings we would like to start selling our products for weddings. Our wedding kit will include 250 packs that can be put out for display at the end of the wedding night encouraging guest to take a packet home with them. In a perfect world we read insert the 250 packs into the housing before it is shipped out to the buyer. This would allow them to simply open the box and put it on the table. We are open to any design. We are leaning towards something plastic but open minded. The key is to draw attention to the display of the packets. We are open to a standing or table top display of the 250 packets. We have uploaded a picture of what one packet looks like. Each packet has five pills inside of it.
Car Odor Removal Unit ("CORU")
An existing commercial molecular generator is being "repurposed" for the specific application of sanitization of vehicle (cars/trucks/planes) interiors. Box (generator) with a commercial fan sits on a rolling cart, attached to a tube-on-a-telescoping arm for mobile application to access car windows in car parking lots (extension cord incorporated into design). The immediate requirement is the design of an exterior "skin/cover" investing the current, early, "Frankenstein'd" version, which is functional but appears to be cobbled together from Amazon parts (which it is). See attached, working prototype. The contest requires an external design to give the appearance of quality, durability and robust commercial visual appeal whilst maintaining the functionality (rolling cart with "appendages") for use in the rough'n tumble automotive industry (primarily). This design is a) to attract initial investors, b) potential for mass fabrication
Modular Rope Clamp System
Overview We are commissioning a new, modern, and modular rope clamp and leash system designed to replace traditional hardware-based rope terminations with a refined, functional, and highly adaptable solution. The goal is to develop a two-piece clamping system that securely grips rope ends while offering a modular connection interface for a variety of attachments such as clips, carabiners, ID plates, and tracking devices. Designers will reimagine this everyday piece of hardware into a sleek, durable, and production-ready product suitable for both CNC machining and injection molding. Winning designers will receive follow on work directly with the company as we continue to build out the modular system. This is intended as an initial design fit assessment and will result in a direct contractual design opportunity for the right designer. Design Objectives Create a next-generation rope clamp that: • Is compact, strong, and minimal in size and form. • Uses two interlocking halves to compress and secure rope ends. • Incorporates internal gripping geometry (spikes, teeth, ribs, or equivalent) for maximum holding strength. • Supports modular attachments through interchangeable connection interfaces. • Is aesthetically refined, modern, and rugged enough for field or consumer use. Rope Specifications • Must accommodate rope diameters from 3/8” (9.5mm) up to 10mm. • The design should minimize bulk while ensuring strength and secure retention under tension. Technical & Functional Requirements • Must pass both static and dynamic load tests suitable for leash and tether applications. • Compatible with CNC machining (aluminum or titanium) and injection molding (advanced polymer such as PA12, PEEK, or reinforced nylon). • The clamping mechanism may use: • Screws (stainless, titanium, or equivalent) • Tab lock, slide lock, or screw lock (end-cap screws, not standard machine screws) • Tool-based or toolless methods of secure closure. • May include magnet-assisted connections for modular accessories or inserts. • Internal design must securely grip rope without cutting or damaging fibers. • The design must be modular, allowing optional attachment inserts such as: • Carabiner or clip connectors. • Identification plate (dog tag style). • Housing for Apple AirTag or similar tracker. Aesthetic Direction Designs should be: • Sleek, modern, and rugged. • Lightweight and functional, with minimal form factor. • Ergonomically refined with smooth exterior lines. • Visually consistent with premium outdoor, climbing, or tactical hardware. • Avoid the look of generic plastic or industrial utility fittings. Materials & Manufacturing • Polymers: Engineering-grade thermoplastics suitable for injection molding (glass-reinforced nylon, PA12, PEEK, or similar). • Metals: CNC-machined aluminum or titanium versions. • Hardware: Stainless or titanium fasteners; all corrosion-resistant materials. • Must be designed for efficient mass production, with minimal part count and assembly steps. ⸻ Modularity Requirements The design should support a unified form factor with optional modular accessories such as: • Carabiner adapters (example: Frog clip style). • Threaded or magnetic modules for ID or AirTag integration. • Snap-in or twist-lock modules for alternate leash or tether uses. Designers are encouraged to explore magnetic or mechanical hybrid locking systems for secure and intuitive attachment. Submission Requirements • 3D CAD files: STEP, IGES, or STL format. • Renderings: At least 3 high-quality renderings from different angles (one exploded view required). • Short concept description: ≤250 words explaining design logic, materials, and assembly. • Optional: animation or short video demonstrating modular attachment concept.
