Description:
Thank you for taking on this design challenge!

We are looking to create a piece that can slide into the hair and separate it creating more airflow for scalp health and preventing hat head.
Imagine a product milimeters high that slides in like a head band, ideally it would lift hair and sort it to prevent bacterial growth, sweat and flat hair.
It should also be able to take on some of the weight of the hat or scarf worn so the hair wont be crushed. ( I had made a headband out of pipe cleaners and this did great to distribute the weight of my scarf and not crush my hair totally but it was not ideal and there was no breathability for the scalp as the hair just laid flat.

I imagine some sort of geometric design mixed with the right material that will stay on the head without the need for too many clips.

The material needs to allow for antimicrobial properties as well as breathability as it will hold the hair in place, and when hat or head covering is removed, the hair will be voluminous and not crushed or flattened.
I know nothing like this exists, but the purpose of the product design is to maintain hair health health/ cleanliness and volume under coverings.
Ideas that entertain for material, design, structure and air flow will be asked to prototype in a second design challenge.
Wants:
The material used must be washable.
The design should be comfortable.
Ideally it will hold onto hair without pins or clips.
Design should reflect organic shapes of head and not try to change shape.
Extra points for design that includes material that is non-slip meaning the product incorporates a final layer that will somehow grip onto the scarf as well helping it to not slip.
Keep in mind scarves are made of cotton, silk, chiffon so make sure the non-slip feature will not damage these fabrics once removed.
Hair support should run along the crown from the forehead to the back of the top of the head. See drawing.

Should be easily removable as well and not tangle the hair.
Think: a headband motion that pushes from forehead back.

Designed product should not be visible under cap/scarf.
Don't Wants:
heaviness
bulkiness
materials that are scratchy or that will harm scalp
Sharp plastic points
Slippage and having to readjust constantly

Hi bese,

I would really like to research more for few days then carry on with design..

I had experienced that few design contest ended too early then mentioned available days. Do let know the days you mentioned is completely available to utilize or you may end it once you find perfect design. So that I can plan accordingly. :)

I didn't want metal because it has to be washable. Also, when worn under a scarf/veil/hijab, it will be high and uncomfortable.
Remember the area of hair lifted is the whole top of the head from forehead to back of top of head. I hope this helps.

Money Storage Bank Bins for Kids
Hi, I am looking for some design ideas for a money storage bank bin for kids. It's a different twist to the traditional piggy banks. I will eventually need to create a 3D CAD of this so that I can create a prototype for it. It will need to have 3 bins designated with 1) Save 2) Spend 3) Share. I envision the approx size of the container to be 5x7x2, clear, that opens up with an attached lid, and on the outside, will be a ledger where it will be used to track withdrawls and deposits. These 3 containers will then need to be placed into a larger single container. Easy for kids to open, close and carry.
Smart display screens to be placed around the house
We need your help with developing a small screen (Oled) that will be used for displaying messages and information. The small screens will be used all over the house and need to be able (with different cradles or other solutions…) to be attached to cabinets (kitchen, laundry room, garage...etc) hang on walls, and stand on flat surface such as kitchen counter, table etc. More details of what needed as follow: Screens need to be either slided into different cradles for example: * A cradle with mini suction cups so it can be attached to flat surface such as kitchen’s cabinets. (Fig. A) * A stand cradle like different smartphone cases have so it can stand on flat surface such as kitchen counter, table etc. (See Fig. B) * A cradle to be hang on walls like a small picture, or using a magnet like this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/studioproper/wallee-m-modular-magnetic-phone-mounting-system * A cradle with electric plug so it can be plugged into an outlet (On a kitchen counter etc.) and continue functioning while being charged https://www.prong.com (See also Fig. C) Or a better and prefered solution will be a design of a screen with all of the above (or as many options as possible). Like this idea for example http://www.weaseleasel.com/, but with the above options. Or some kind of a combination with this concept https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oona/the-oona-whatever-you-need-it-to-be?ref=card *Screen need to be able to be attached/stand/hang both vertically and horizontally
Baby Spoon
I need a baby spoon that keeps the food closed inside the spoon so that it doesn't spill or open until the baby is ready to eat. Most of the time he is not ready to swallow the food. When he is pressured into eating, he has learned to swing at the spoon and knock down the food on the spoon. This spoon mechanical design will only open open a parent pressing a button for the spoon to open.
Am I Safe to Get a Haircut
In the coming months as US businesses open up, this does not guarantee people will come. We are seeing this in some of the EU countries. The streets are still close to empty. Small one-on-one businesses need a way to “demonstrate” to their customers that they will be “safe”. When you turn it on, this “box on wheels” will make the small room “negative” with respect to the other rooms or WRT the hallway. This guarantees that anything bad in that room stays in that room. It does this because inside is a small blower. The inlet of the blower is “in the room” and the outlet of the blower goes out the window This causes the room to “go negative” WRT adjacent rooms or hallway. If you were to put a small string under the door, you would see the string being “pulled into the room”. This “box on wheels” also filters the air that passes thru it using a HEPA filter. Then a small UV lamp is trained on this HEPA filter and the UV light kills the virus.
