Description:
Looking for help with a redesign for skateboard wheel stoppers. These skateboard wheel stoppers prevent the wheels on the skateboard from rolling when practicing tricks.

These are rubber pieces that can be slipped on skateboard wheels to stop them from rolling while learning ollies, kickflips and other skateboarding tricks. More information about it can be found here: www.skatertrainer.com
Wants:
What We Are Looking to Get Done:

We are looking for a redesign of the current version. We would like something similar to the current version, where the dimensions are similar, just we would mostly like a different design/apperance of it. We are open to a variety of designs or suggestions.

We need something that basically does the same thing as the current version where it prevents skateboard wheels from rolling when practicing tricks. We need a design that will prevent the rubber wheel stopper from slipping off when users practice tricks with the product.
Software:
  1. AutoCAD
  2. SolidWorks
  3. Autodesk Fusion 360

#61 Wheel Stopper - Skater Trainer by NoobFromCA
This design is focusing on easy removal and installing the stopper, while keeping the design simple, beautiful and easy to manufacture.
1. Skater can easily remove the stopper with the addition of slopes to the edges of the holes (highlighted in the model), this helps wheels to slide out smoothly.
2. Chamfered faces at frond and back helps wheels to slide in easily during installing.
3. Skater can use the finger area around the stopper for easy removal or mounting of the stopper.
4. All these changes improved the overall look of the stopper.

#58 Trainer with webbing by ODBDesign
I feel it would be important to align the wheels as if the user lands there is potential difference in height between the wheels, which would unsettle the board. Here I used a design similar to attaching bike lights with a flexible rubber webbing connecting 2 trainers via cutout sections which would rest on the underside of the skate truck. The webbing would stop the trainers slipping, align the wheels and allow the material of the trainers to be made from a softer more flexible compound for ease of getting on and off.

Optimized for injection molding. To solve the problem of it coming off you can start with a slightly smaller inner diameter and test the first/second out of tool products. Then if necessary adjust the mold without having to buy a complete new one.
Let me know what you think.

The tab has changed from "choosing a winner" to "ended" . So has this ended without a winner? The buyer hasn't been active since the 9th Nov ! Apologies if you are just taking your time.

hey cadgeek- everyone here is well aware that this wasn't a prepaid/guaranteed contest, but we all submitted designs anyways. I wouldn't jump to conclusions so fast thinking the buyer has plans to rip off your design. He said he plans to look over the designs over the next few weeks and then decide. And I wouldn't worry to much because under 'payment pending' contests, the buyer can not view the files of the design, they can only see the image. There are many design concepts that look great, but in reality they can not easily be manufactured.
You also need to look at it from the perspective of the buyer as it might be their first time using this platform and they are not sure what to expect from this site. Maybe they are hesitant to kickoff a prepaid project contest and forced to pick a wininning design that they might not like. As a designer we need to be patient and courtesy with potential clients because who knows it could turn out to be a long term working relationship where they have future projects for the designer to do. Your frustration should be with the Cadcrowd platform. That's the problem with many of these design contest sites, it leaves many designers out to dry. If you don't like it then leave the platform and stick with the freelancer sites.

If your current design works fine then why are you hosting a contest? You want to talk professionalism you now have wasted 60 or 70 professional cad designer valuable time. I don't think you understand how expensive our time is. You hosted a contest and received more than adequate entries and left us out to dry. "Very Professional"

@Cad Geek - thank you for showing such excellent professionalism. Your quick accusation that I plan on stealing and using your design is way off. No need to worry, I would never do that. Why would I risk doing that when my current design works just fine. You have shown to me that you would not be a good designer to work with and therefore I will not consider you.

(For the Buyer) If I see any of my concept designs for this contest being manufactured, I will sue you. Payment Pending is a joke all it does is give the contest host/ buyer an opportunity to steal our designs. I urge all the designers on here to boycott any payment pending contest for here on out.

hello, Redouan Elmirou

Your doubt is genuine. But there is nothing written in description that there would be only injection molding done on the product. The buyer can choose any design and can make a basic design by injection molding, and then after, he can opt for skilled workers for detailing. And yes no doubt that the more is the detailing, the more it will become costlier for the buyer to generate the final product.

First of all I'm not trying to insult anyone I'm just thinking in the best interest of both parties(buyer and designers).

PLEASE be careful choosing a design because a lot of the designs above simply cannot be produced! And if you take one of these designs to a injection moulder he's going to send you back home to redesign the whole thing.. I highly doubt some of these people have any knowledge on how to design a product for injection molding..

some things to look at:
1. Adding texture on the inside of the product is going to give problems when the product is exiting the mold.
2. A straight surface (no release angle) is NEVER coming out of the mold undamaged.
3. Simply think about how the product wil exit the mold.. the mold should be 2 parts.. some products simply cannot get out of the mold..

As for your current design.. I'm with jessebrown131313 on this. The design looks good and is designed for its manufacturing method. Although I am willing to think about USEFUL designs and I might upload something somewhere in the next few days or you can also contact me personally if you're interested.

The design i submitted contain those parts in both sides , this can help young kids with less strength to easily slip this rubber on over wheels.

@ Mark M - The current version is a stretchable rubber. I'm not sure what the durometer of it is, but it is softer than the skatboard wheel.

Base / Rail / Connector design
We are in the process of designing a product line consisting of various 12Volt accessories which can be mounted on a stand-alone Base or on a Rail. Deliverables: - Design of the Base - Design of the Rail (+ Various connectors) - Design of the Mechanism that connects the Accessory to the Base/Rail - The design must be production ready - The design must be as simple and sturdy as possible yet the look and feel should be modern, high(top)-end and minimalist
Vehicular LED Display Case
I am prototyping a display for a startup that will be mounted on the tops of vehicles. It will eventually be either CNC milled or 3D printed, depending on the material decided on. For this display I am looking for a sleek case design that also meets the specifications below. The display panel itself is 81.75625 cm x 15.24 cm and needs to be able to slide into and out of the case when a side panel is removed. The electronics are mounted on the back of the display panel and require a clearance of 5.08 cm. There needs to be a source of ventilation for the electronics except on the top as it will be outdoors, as well as one usb port and space for the power cable on the bottom of the display case. For the feet, they will be made of magnets with quite a strong pull force that have been dipped in rubber to prevent scratching. This also needs to be accounted for in the design with there being 3 to 4 feet supporting the case. There are other cases for various products that need to be designed/redesigned, so we would like to find somebody to work with through this contest.
3D Advertising Pylon with Smart Trash & Recycle Bin
We need Advertising Pylon (LED Screen / Poster) with Smart Trash & Recycle Bin. We are looking for aesthetic & ornamental design. We need advertising Pylon have Base + Advertising Space (LED Screen / Poster) + Title Space + Crown. We would like to see Crown design should be more elegant, aesthetic look & ornamental design. We prefer little Contemporary Islamic design for the Crown. Any other suggestions also welcome. We need space for Logo & Text (Gold Material) on the top of Pylon, below the Crown. Advertising Space could be Flat or Curved LED Screen / Poster design. Top of Recycle Bin space utilize for Advertising Purpose. Attached images for your reference for 3D Pylon – LED Screen with Smart Trash & Recycle Bin.
Control-box with display, fitting on a DIN rail
This is about a first product draft, which shall later be turned into a production ready design. I need an enclosure for a custom made electronic part. The rough form-factor should be similar to a navigation system (see attached files) with a display in front and parallel enclosure boundaries, slightly rounded edges. The display is 4.3 inches wide (see technical details attached) and should be included in the rendering. The enclosure should be 4 cm deep. As a bonus, the display shows attached bar diagram. At the back, there should be the possibility for a DIN rail mount, top hat rail EN 50022 – 35 × 7.5 but also for direct wall mount using screws or mounting to a bar with cable ties. At the front left side of the enclosure, I need a C14 inlet to add a power cable and a Schuko socket: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuko or CEE 7/3 socket. See attached figure of the design. The material should be dark grey with a bit reflective surface. Please add our logo to the upper left corner of the front, below the display. If it fits optically, it could glow a bit in green.
