Design of an embedded light controlling module as a standard for newly developed street lights This project focuses on the design of a smart lighting control unit that is integrated in new luminaries. The solution uses radar technology (microwave sensors) to detect motion, Zigbee communication protocol for short-distance data transmission, PWM (Pulse width modulation) to control the light intensity, and it also allows control over RGB LED lamps (can control the light colour). The circuitry is enclosed in a high performance plastic casing (PET reinforced with glass fibre) that allows radio wave transmissions (for sensors and zigbee), which provides fixtures and adjustment mechanisms necessary to integrate it inside a new lamp, replacing a traditional ballast.
