Design of electrodes for spark erosion used in toolmaking

A selection of machined graphite electrodes designed using CREO and programmed for machining on NCG Cam. When designing electrodes it is important to understand the spark eroding process and give explicit instructions for its placement in the tool by way of a detailed drawing. The electrodes shown were machined on a high speed mill with cutters as small as 0.2 mm diameter.
