Bicycle Mechatronic Automatic Shifting Mechanism

Columbia University Mechanical Engineering -- Senior Design Project. Designed and built a mechatronic automatic shifting mechanism with prototype budget of $600. Our project won first place in the contest. System clamped onto bicycle frame and used existing shift cables, derailleurs, etc. Two linear actuators were used to pull the shift cables. I was responsible for the mechanical design, including linear actuator and power electronics specification. 3D printer was used to created the prototype parts (injection molding was production intent).
