About
I design welded frames, welding fixtures and sheet-metal parts the way a fabrication shop actually cuts, bends and welds them. When a part carries real load, I can check it by FEA before anything is cut.
I am a mechanical engineer (EUR-ACE accredited Master-level degree, ENIT) and the technical manager of a steel fabrication shop. Every day I turn designs into cutting, bending and welding data, manage CNC plasma cutting and nesting, and supervise production and erection. Before that, I spent about 3 years in FEA research on metal fatigue and damage, using Abaqus and Python automation.
What I can do for you:
- Fabrication-ready design: SolidWorks weldments and sheet metal, 3D models, general arrangement, assembly and part drawings, BOM, cut lists, flat patterns and DXF files for laser or plasma cutting.
- Welding fixtures and jigs: locating, clamping and torch access designed around your parts and your welding sequence.
- FEA of welded frames, brackets, skids, platforms and bolted joints: stress, deflection, buckling and modal checks in Abaqus or ANSYS, cross-checked by hand calculation, with a short report you can act on.
- Abaqus automation: Python scripts for parametric studies and result extraction.
- Design review for manufacturing: I flag details that are hard or expensive to cut, bend, weld or assemble, and propose simpler ones.
How I work: I read your files first and ask the questions that change the design. You get a fixed scope with milestones. Deliverables are native SolidWorks files, STEP, PDF drawings, DXF and a short note.
I do not stamp drawings (no PE licence). For permits or code sign-off, I prepare the calculations and drawings for your licensed engineer to review.
