Hi,
I’m Ivan, a mechanical CAD drafting specialist based in Edmonton, Canada.
I help small manufacturers, fabrication shops, contractors, and product developers turn sketches, measurements, photos, or existing files into clean CAD deliverables for quoting, manufacturing, and review.
I can help with:
3D mechanical models
2D fabrication and shop drawings
DXF files for laser, plasma, or waterjet cutting
STEP, IGES, STL, DWG, and PDF exports
Sheet metal parts and mechanical assemblies;
Reverse engineering from sketches, photos, or measurements;

My background combines mechanical engineering, CAD drafting, and hands-on CNC/manufacturing experience. Because I understand shop-floor reality, I try to make drawings practical, clear, and easy to use for fabrication.
Software experience includes Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and SolidWorks file conversion.
I am available for project-based, part-time, evening, and weekend CAD support.

Experience

CAD Tecnician TEZ · Full-time Oct 2018 – Aug 2022 3 yrs 10 mos Lviv, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine Designed and updated sheet metal products and manufacturing documentation for ventilation and smoke-removal systems.

Main work included CAD design of ventilation grilles, fire dampers, custom sheet metal parts, production fixtures, and non-standard customer orders. Prepared 3D models, 2D drawings, flat patterns, fabrication details, and documentation for production.

Worked closely with production needs, including bending, cutting, welding, assembly, and practical shop-floor requirements. Supported the development and improvement of production technology for sheet metal products, helping make parts easier to manufacture, assemble, and repeat.
Gained strong experience in mechanical CAD design, sheet metal design, ventilation components, fire damper design, custom fabrication, production fixtures, and manufacturing-focused drawing preparation.

Education

Odesa National Academy of Food Tecnilogies Master, Mechanical Engineering, N/A 2003 – 2008 Activities and Societies: Mechanical design, CAD drafting, manufacturing processes, sheet metal design, machine design, production technology, technical drawing, engineering projects. Completed a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in Ukraine with a focus on mechanical design, manufacturing processes, production technology, technical drawing, and engineering problem-solving.

Built a strong foundation in reading and creating technical drawings, understanding mechanical parts and assemblies, and applying engineering principles to real manufacturing and production tasks.

This education supports my current CAD drafting and design work, including 3D modeling, fabrication drawings, sheet metal parts, fixtures, production documentation, and practical manufacturing-focused design.

Other experience

CNC and VMC Machine Operator Hands-on CNC manufacturing experience with machining processes, production drawings, tolerances, setups, tooling, inserts, feeds and speeds, surface finish, and practical shop-floor requirements.
Worked with CNC equipment and production parts, reading technical drawings, checking dimensions, understanding GD&T/tolerances, and supporting accurate manufacturing. This experience helps me create CAD models and drawings that are practical for real production, not just visually correct.
