I am a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with over 40 years of expertise in CAD design, die design, mould development, product detailing, and engineering drafting for automotive and industrial applications. I specialize in 2D and 3D CAD modeling using industry-leading software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro/E (Creo), and UG NX. My technical expertise includes solid modeling, surface modeling, assembly design, reverse engineering, process planning, and preparation of detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing and production.
Over the years, I have developed strong expertise in die and mould design for various casting processes, including Gravity Die Casting, Pressure Die Casting, Rubber Die Casting, and Cast Iron Die Casting. I have hands-on experience in core & cavity development, parting line creation, draft angle application, machining allowances, and tooling considerations for efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.
I have worked extensively on automotive and engine-related components such as cylinder blocks, connecting rods, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, brake calipers (LH & RH), and other mechanical assemblies. I also have experience in designing automotive electrical and electronic components such as horn, indicator, flasher units, and related vehicle parts in both 2D and 3D formats.
My strengths include the preparation of detailed machining drawings, casting drawings, assembly layouts, BOM (Bill of Materials), part catalogues, and engineering documentation with complete accuracy and professional detailing. I possess strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), tolerance analysis, fits, surface finish specifications, and manufacturing standards.
I am highly skilled in converting paper drawings, sketches, concepts, and existing references into accurate CAD models and production drawings. My experience in reverse engineering and process planning helps clients improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce production issues.
In addition to design and drafting, I have practical experience in vendor development and coordination for manufacturing child parts and assemblies.
