I have 20 years experience in product design. From trend analysis to production. I have designed 1000's of products to market. I was the Senior Designer at Pottery Barn Kids for 17 years. In my time there I helped lead a team that took the Kids Toy department from 0 to a $25 million business. For the last 3 years I have been a freelance designer for clients all over the world. I am a professional 3D Technical & Product designer of over 4 years with over 100 successful clients. I have experience with elite universities, Fortune 500 companies, and visionary entrepreneurs. For further introduction please review a sample walkthrough of my 3D services. I look forward to working with you! STAGES - A project of this nature will have a few steps. If we work together on each step I can design & produce the product(s) you desire with the correct specifications. 1. PrePro- To exact firm measurements, it is first smart for us to isolate the correct production methods and optimization requirements for the final product(s). Material selection, thickness requirements, Bounding Boxes, and Volume are all necessary ingredients in this process. I can, in this preliminary phase, supply useful and applicable knowledge. This will pre-tell the printing cost and allow us to pick the best material and 3d printing house. 2. 3D Modeling- I will be able to design the various model(s) you've suggested. I use a combination of BLENDER, RHINO, MESHLAB, and NETFABB to create, edit, and check models. Each model at this stage will have been checked for printing capability. Questions about aesthetic, structure, and dynamic usually arrive during this stage. At the conclusion of this phase specifications and look are nailed down and readied for 3d printing. 3. 3D Print Formatting - During this last stage model(s) are checked for errors, (thin walls, holes, bad normals, floating pieces, etc.) I send all model(s) through a verified test printability test to ensure 100% printability. Models are thickened, sized and cleaned and given the green light at the end of this stage. 4. Let's Chat! Please view the attached. I have experience in artistic design and simple mechanical design. I'm highly skilled in 2D and 3D CAD modeling, with some tooling experience. I have been in the 3D printing scene since 2007, and can optimize models for printing. I also have experience with silicone molds and casting. I did 2 years of mechanical engineering in school and was top of my CAD classes, with the ability to make perfect models much faster than my peers. I had a patent pending for a mechanical design done as part of a Systems Engineering competition. I also helped form our robotics club. My preferred work is aesthetic objects, both decorative and functional. I spend my free time doing floor-plans and interior design and can 3D model architectural/interior designs for visualization. I also have a love of furniture design. I am a programmer by trade, but I am looking for small-scale design work as it is what I prefer to do.
