I am a dedicated Design Drafter with expertise in Mechanical & Architectural Design. I worked as an AutoCad Drafter for 5 years following school in the granite industry. For the past 3.5 years, I have been in Mechanical Design using Solid Works & Solid Edge. I can produce 2D prints using DraftSight (AutoCad clone). I can also produce 3D models using the aforementioned programs. I can also produce photo-realistic renderings out of CAD models. i'm a professional designer who is seeking freelance and contract 3D modeling and rendering jobs to supplement my income. I also have some mechanical engineering experience, because I design actual products that need to be manufactured. After graduating from RISD, I worked at a consultancy that designed office furniture and architectural lighting. One of my office furniture designs won Best of Neocon in 2002. I designed office furniture for Kimball Office and lighting for Nessen, D'ac and LAM. Since then, I've designed both high-end custom pieces working with small-scale artisans as well as mass market outdoor furniture and lighting targeted at Big Box retailers including Lowe's Hardware, Sam's Club, The Home Depot and Macy's. Working at both larger companies with in-house product development managers to smaller manufacturers where I've worn all the hats from art director for print, photoshoots, website and showroom to project management from concept to delivery. As a multi-faceted designer with a wealth of experience, I am able to take the parameters you set (price, target market segment, manufacturing constraints) and produce compelling design that fits those parameters. One key strength is that I am able to synthesize the subjective qualities (look & feel) that you are targeting by embodying it into a physical product. I live very comfortably in that space. As a certified CAD designer with 5+ years of experience in product design using Solidworks and other CAD software. I had opportunity to design various electronic products such as smart watch, medical device, PSU, Bluetooth speaker, and so on. I provide you DFM(design for manufacturing) with knowledge on various manufacturing processes such as plastic molding, 3D printing, sheet metal design. I have hands on experience in printing using PLA, SLA 3D printers and we are also available to use local printing services for prototyping. I prefer to use Solidworks for 3D design, engineering drawing and rendering. I'm also familiar with B9 creator and Cuda software dedicated to 3D printing design.
