Since 1995 I have been a CAD designer, assistant manager of 2 drafting departments, a Senior Designer and Project Architect, and am now working in both AutoCAD and Revit, along with Navisworks and a bit of Sketchup. Many of my projects are now in the built environment all over the southern U.S.A. and there's no signs of stopping! I hold A.S. degrees in Architectural Design technology and Building Construction technology, and am casually working toward a third one in Engineering Design technology - so yes I have also done some projects in Solidworks and Inventor. In 2002, after high school, I went directly into trade school and earned my AutoCAD Certification. Little did I know that I would be in the AEC field for the next 12 years. I regularly spend 8+ hours a day, working on schools and other similar buildings, making large sums of money for other people, whilst barely making ends meat for all of my hard work. This is the reason I've decided to go freelance. Coordinating electrical systems in building has become my strong suite. Although I went into CAD classes with dreams of making video games and 3D models, I have not been able to find the right the right company or the right location. Alas, I have continued to build complex 3D models for BIM coordination. But, no more! I graduated in 2002 and started my career as a piping designer. I worked directly with a mechanical engineer in large projects in retail stores, industrial manufacturing plants, commercial office buildings, and schools. After 3 years I moved to an HVAC designing position, designing and drawing HVAC systems for permit and construction. After the economic hit in the late 2000's I moved to a software management position.
