I graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005 and immediately entered the aerospace industry working for a major airframe manufacturer. There I learned and used CATIA v4 and was fully trained in CATIA v5. I've spent the last 10 years working in various design roles as an individual contributor and design lead of cross functional teams on simple and complex projects with values exceeding $15 million. I have advanced skills in CATIA v5 in areas of solid modeling, complex surfacing, assembly design, and drafting as well as bill of material and bill of specification creation, modification, and maintenance. In addition to a strong mechanical design foundation, I possess strong problem-solving and communication skills. I graduated from UPenn with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics in May 2020. While there, I gained tons of CAD, CAM, DFM, & DFA experience (engineers love acronyms, don't they). I started my 2d and 3d modeling journey as a freshman in high school back in 2003. I have learned many 3d programs since then and many manufacturing processes throughout high school and college. Now life takes me in a career of teaching 3d modeling daily to high school students. I would love to create 3d models to help everyday people with everyday problems. In 2002, after high school, I went directly into trade school and earned my AutoCAD Certification. Little did I know that I would be in the AEC field for the next 12 years. I regularly spend 8+ hours a day, working on schools and other similar buildings, making large sums of money for other people, whilst barely making ends meat for all of my hard work. This is the reason I've decided to go freelance. Coordinating electrical systems in building has become my strong suite. Although I went into CAD classes with dreams of making video games and 3D models, I have not been able to find the right the right company or the right location. Alas, I have continued to build complex 3D models for BIM coordination. But, no more! I’m hoping that if you've found this website you have an idea, maybe a hand drawn sketch or two, or even some old drawings that you’d like to have converted to a digital format. Do you want a replacement for that plastic clip that you broke on your car? Why not let me design it for you in 3D so you can have another one (or as many as you want) 3D printed. I am a passionate and driven engineer specializing in optical and mechanical systems, with a strong background in research, design, and innovation. In October of 2024 I founded Apereon Imaging, a startup dedicated to advancing photography using innovative optical design. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Astronomy from the University of Maryland and recently completed my Master's degree in Design Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València. Professional Experience: From May 2020 to May 2021, I contributed to groundbreaking work at the MIT Haystack Observatory for the Mars Oxygen ISRU Experiment (MOXIE), a payload on NASA's 2020 Mars Rover Perseverance. My focus was on developing fluid dynamic models of the MOXIE filter, culminating in a first-author presentation at the International Conference on Environmental Systems in 2021. In the summer of 2021, I interned remotely with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where I developed a thermal model of the MOXIE inlet tube using Thermal Desktop integrated with AutoCAD. These roles honed my ability to collaborate across global teams, as well as to work independently and effectively in remote environments.
